Just a little story to share... I'm currently awaiting the new case number from NVC but decided to "get ahead" and have my vaccinations done by my own doctor (also so I can claim some of the €€ on my health insurance). I booked an appointment and we established yesterday that I'll need DTP and MMR (known as BMR here in NL), given a couple of weeks apart. (She gave me a flu jab for "good measure" too...)

So, I went to the pharmacy to pick up the vaccines. The DTP cost €15, fair enough. Then they charged me €190 for the MMR!!! I asked them to check, and to call my doctor (they spoke to the assistant), and still the price came back €190. :ranting: I was floored, but there is only so much arguing and discussing I can do in Dutch as it's my third language... I reluctantly paid and then back home did my own research online. It appears I was charged for a 10-dose pack (how many MMR vaccinations do they think I need?!!)

I went back this morning and they'd already spoken to someone else at my doctor's surgery and admitted it was a mistake. They apologised and refunded my money so now the MMR is costing €24.40. Now that's a much more acceptable price! I can claim 50% of both DTP and MMR on my insurance.

Just to forewarn anyone else who's buying the vaccines themselves: make sure you're buying what you actually need and not just kitting out the pharmacy!!
