I have a friend who borrowed it and I have asked her every day to give it back and she NEVER remembers!

I'll work on it. I'll just threaten her.

For me this weekend will be busy receiving guests, mom and dad come back from their cruise and then it's party time.:dance: Grandma is turning 99 and we are giving a big party. she has a friend who is 98 and has a birthday on Nov 1 (grandma is the 4th) so they celebrate together. Last year the friend wanted to dance in the restaurant where we held the party and was looking for willing old men! She is too cute. This year we are having it at the house so we can invite more people.

Does anyone here get the magazine Cooking Light? This month there is a recipe for a bourbon pecan tart with chocolate drizzle- it looks sooooooooo good. I'm definitely making it for Thanksgiving this year! Those could easily be made into little tarts too.

Hmmmmm.....in order for the pumpkin to stay, Waiver #367890432789 must be filed with the local Holiday Board and then sent to the National Calendar Center to review the appropriate dates and reason for use and THEN to the Department of Avatar Appropriateness for scanning. The user will be notified within 527 days pending administrative review!!!!!

P.S. I think it's kind of cute too! Shhhhh...don't tell anyone though. I MUST maintain my "General-like" facade!!!!

So I have this strange little obsession. At least once a week on busy days we go across the street to the Dirksen Senate Building for lunch. Now this is a general cafeteria for mostly Senate staffers to eat at and an occasional congressperson might stop by too. ANNNNYway they have these pudding cups, chocolate and vanilla with this whipped cream on top and little chocolate sprinkles. Now this is not a great ahh decadent desert by any means but I think I'm addicted to the pudding cups. I wish I had a camera to take a picture of it now lol.

Well, mine isn't special, but I hope I can keep it year-round since there's always palm trees in Miami :P

And for that burbon pecan pie recepie, just soak the pecans in burbon for 1 hr (turning half-way through) and then add them in like normal into any pecan pie recepie (and make sure some of that extra burbon gets in there too ;) )

Chocolate drizzle - you can just melt some chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle the melted choc over the top with a fork if you want.

You *might* have to file a waiver in order to add the cream. I think you need legal counsel for that.

Wow what a great Friday Thread. Love it. Sorry but I can't take off my mask that is me everyday!

Today is great as it is Hasan's first day at work. I am very excited as he is also. He started saying this morning that he wants to find a part time job also and I explained that is not happening. I work two jobs and we are living great off that and that his income is to pay for his car and then what is left from that 1/2 for us and the other 1/2 for his children in Jordan. I knwo that he will find that he is tired after working and that the second job thing will not be brought up again. Iwas like heck it was hard enough for you to find work this time what makes you think that you can find something that you can pick the hours.

Yeah for the family parties this weekend.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend and will wait to see what Jakie's adventure was!

 I needed that. I just got off another one of those stupid Ombudsman teleconfrence calls. How infuriating!! Makes me wanna petition to import a pumpkin just to see what sort of results Id get. Ill send in pictures of myself and the pumpkin taken in front of various landmarks. My receipt from the grocery store where I purchased the pumpkin, etc.
