Hello everyone,

my husband was born in and lives in pakistan. we got married in january of this year and i filed the I-130 immediately. thank God all the paperwork and steps involved have progressed smoothly. but....my husband received a letter from the cosulate in pakistan in mid-october. his interview date is scheduled for may 2nd! we had both been expecting the interview to be in february or march at the very latest. does anyone know why there might be such a long period of time before the interview? any tips on what my husband or i tell the consulate if we try to change the interview date to an earlier one? :help:

I really dont think you will be able to get an earlier one. Most embassies are pretty booked up with applications taken in the order they receive them. Remember they process so many different types of visa's.

It wouldnt hurt to try to ask them but just dont be disappointed if they cant.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

Pretty much any way you ask will bring a laugh, so I wouldn't bother. If they had an earlier interview date available they wouldn't have set it for May.

There is a chance that if someone's interview is cancelled for some reason that they could call you earlier....just make sure to have everything ready....this happens sometimes in jordan.....but this is far and few between. Good luck.
