Hy guys... im new here. Just filled for my fiancee on Oct 23rd 2007. Havent gotten anything yet... and I managed to loose both my usps tracking number and my receipt for the money order. Any suggestions on how I can check if they received it? I sent it to the Vermont service center. One more important question.... I noticed after I had sent the I-129F that the consul my fiancee would have to present herself would be Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But I mistakenly wrote Sao Paulo, Brazil, because a firend had told me that consulate affairs had moved to Sao Paulo. But I found out only tourist visa's are dealt with over there. The K1 is still at Rio de Janeiro. Can I correct this detali over the phone... or will I have to file again?

we're facing the same problem. We put on our petition that the embassy is Munich,Germany.

Turns out that Munich doesn't do K1 interviews....it has to be in Frankfurt. We haven't done anything about it yet as we don't want to delay the process, but maybe someone has some good advice what to do? Thanks!

How about my issue with knowing or not if they got it? Anyone? Ideas?? I lost my USPS tracking number along with my carbon copy of my money order.

Any ideas?

You have to wait 90 days from when you sent it. After that, you can call USCIS and they will patch you through to someone (I got an immigration officer) who can look up your case by name/address/SSN/etc. They will give you a receipt number that you may use to track the status online, and you can also get information on how to request that the receipt notice be re-sent.

I'm not sure how long they are currently taking to send Noa1. Mine arrived about 2 weeks after I filed. It's only been a week, so I'd say give it another week or two and maybe you'll have the receipt and not have to worry about it. Good luck with your journey.
