In life the way i have seen it, you make good money doing something that doesn't fulfill you...sucks your very soul.

Or you make adequate money doing what you feel is a good way to spend your precious time something not only good for you, but for others as well.

And for those "lucky" ones: you do what you love (soul-filling) and get paid handsomely for it.

To me:

Money is not everything.

The luxury of time is.

Couldn't agree more, but to add.......

Then you find yourself in that soul sucking place (after years being lucky), having beckoned the universe's intervention by uttering time and again "oh how I wish I could just walk away"

And a door suddenly opens, not by your own hand, but open nonetheless.

Thanks, Spirit.......happened upon this tonight, and was a much needed affirmation. My snowglobe's been shaken, and am trying to remain in awe of the snow

Mary! I just love how you wrote this...the words you selected.

Sheer poetry.

Congrats on whatever happened for you.

And I can see that you absolutely get it.

:star: :star: :star:

Okay, for some of you I know this will sound hoaky (for lack of another word), however the universe always gives you what you feel you deserve.

Always!

Write your script, baby!

Mary, I'm glad you received your daily affirmation, just remember that no two snowflakes are alike. They are all beautiful, even in the midst of a blizzard.

I guess what I am trying to say is she really is a nice lady and means well. But I don't think she understands what we're going through. So I decided to print out allllllllllll of the information and give it to her. I don't think people really understand what we all go through, they think it's an easy process. It's not that way at all.

She can go ahead and think I'm lazy. I personally know I am not, but its just a little annoying when people don't understand.

Grandparents are cranky :hehe:

Don Cherry is one of your grandparents? :hehe:

I want to love my husbands side of the family. I really do. His mom and I have been doing better and his brother has been better with my son. But his grandma just keeps on giving me these low blows now. There's going to come a time where I have to put her in her place and I don't want to do that.

There was a christmas party the other day and his cousins, aunts and uncles came over. One of his aunts gave me a gift and told me it was for all of us (meaning my husband, son and myself). I opened it up, it was a bag of jelly bellies, a pair of socks and $15.00.

I don't know what happened but all of a sudden my husband was like: "Um the money is mine, you can have the rest, I pay the bills"

And his grandma was standing behind him and went: "Yes, HE pays the bills"

Are we really going on about 15.00? I didn't care about the money but it was a side of my husband I had never seen and I was sooo disappointed with the comment, and even more bothered with his grandmother standing behind him so matter of factly.

I left the room to go cry because it just made me feel like #######. I WISH I COULD WORK!

People seem to forget he came to Canada for 2 years and didn't work. I paid all the bills, but I never kept score. It was just what I had to do.

I really hate materialism.

Wow! That's really out of line. I wonder if granny has had a word or words with your Husband. It just makes me shake my head, really - it's so - well it soooo shouldn't be an issue!!!!

I assume your Husband was joking. How does he feel about this anyway, what does he have to say about granny's little digs?

I really like hubby's family but there is one thing I don't like...

I lost another baby a few weeks ago and no one in his family sent me a condolence card or anything... and his sister and dad were the only ones to say they were sorry

when we lost the last baby, they just gave us money to help with the funeral but no one really said they were sorry for our loss  I know his family isn't really very touchy feelly but I would have liked some acknowledgment of our loss besides money...

Aww Marilyn, I'm so sorry - how hard for you both.

I don't know anything about this personally, but I have heard that sometimes people just ignore miscarriages as though the child wasn't 'real' yet, which is hurtful to the people involved, you and your Husband.

Not trying to make excuses for them at all, just saying that they probably don't 'get it'. Anyway, again, I'm really sorry that has happened.

well, this really wasn't a miscarriage... the baby was stillborn and everyone was really attached to this baby already...

the last time the baby was born alive and lived for 12 days and still no one really said they were sorry....

My husband realized later how it made me feel. I don't think he talks behind my back with his grandma. He understood but I don't know, the entire comment with her standing behind him infuriated me.

My problem is I dwell and I have a hard time getting over certain things. He keeps telling me to get over it, and I should.

I sometimes think that he likes to please people around him so he'll agree with her when she says things like that.
