Can anyone think of a reason why we shouldn't marry the same day Kristy moves over? In Michigan, I can apply for the marriage license without her and without a SSN, I just need her birth certificate, and make sure I apply for it more than three days before her moving.

With her being pregnant we don't want to risk any lapse in health coverage.

The minister that "married" us the first time will do it for another $25.

I can't think of a good reason! If you both want to marry the same day as the POE, be best to get an officiant lined up as well. :)

We're so not ready to sell her house, yet, though. We still have a lot of cleaning, etc. to do. I just hope it will sell in a couple of days like a lot of the houses in Sarnia are lately. Worse case scenario, is I'll pay her $200 mortgage (her half, she lives with her mom who pays the other half) until it does, though. Just don't want to put it up for sale or make any concrete plans until the visa is in hand.

Nope. As long as she has her visa there's nothing stating you can't get married that same day. Hell you could probably get a minister and do the ceremony the second she steps out of the customs office on US soil, though not sure how INS will like you holding up traffic like that, but sure thinking it would at least make the papers...

No reason at all. In fact, if you can get the certified marriage certificate the same day you can send in her AOS package that day too! A person here on VJ (mercy) did that. I think she married a day or two after entry on a K1. She got married, rushed over to the county clerk's office for the certificate (issued same day), made a copy and stuffed it in her already prepped AOS/EAD/AP package (which included photocopies of her I-94, and K1 as well) and stuffed it in the mail.
