How will you know if you passed your Medical Examination???

My new found friend in St. Luke's who is also a k1 filer asked me that question and I answered her that if they found out that there is a problem with your medical examination they won't let you have the vaccination and will released a copy of your x-ray and vaccination documentation worksheet.. Just don't know if I'm right

It was my understanding back in 2000 that it was sealed and only to be opened at the embassy. That being said, I think you would know if you FAILED because the doctor would be quarenteening you or letting you know you need medication for something like Mad Cow Disease. The purpose of the medical is not to screen out people with less than perfect health, it is to prevent people with something that would threaten other populations if granted traveled, like that guy who had that drug resistent highly contagous thing in the news. What was it? TB?

It all depends on the medical problem. They will give you vaccinations and xrays. You pay for those.

There are certain things that will automatically disqualify someone from getting a visa. Drugs, sex offenders HIV etc where only the help of a qualified lawyer should be attained and used. A waiver is available for some problems. A serious medical condition will warrant closer inspection but the panel surgeon overseas will ascertain whether or not a specific problem warrants that. For instance, I have a medical problem, not on the list though, all I was told was to make sure I get a good family doctor here to keep a check and do yearly physicals.

My husband asked people at SLEC and they said that if they did not say anything to you and took your passport, it means you are GOOD. Otherwise, they will advise you if further testing is needed or they found something with your medical.

Yes I agree!!! If they take ur passport and gave u the xray film with you, then u're good to go for ur interview... st. lukes will be the one submits the sealed envelope to the USE...

In Germany you had to give em your phonenumber and they said they would call if something is not okay,if it is okay then they said they will send to the ambassy without calling.

We knew my husband had "passed" because he knew the results of his blood test as well as the TB test. I mean, he doesn't have a disease... so there is no reason for him to "fail".

Yes I agree!!! If they take ur passport and gave u the xray film with you, then u're good to go for ur interview... st. lukes will be the one submits the sealed envelope to the USE...

"If they take your passport?" They give it back to you then don't they? I know they take it at the interview and keep it until they send you your visa. But I didn't know they took it at the medical. ???

They don't take the passport at the medical. They just wanted to look at it as a form of proof of ID.

They took my passport after I'm done with my medical and they gave me a copy of my x-ray and vaccination document. I think all K1 filers who went there and passed their medical they took their passport too...

I think it will depend on your country It depends on the process

In the UK you get your passport back but you don't get an x ray. All information relating to the medical is sent to the embassy by Knightsbridge doctors.

I got a copy of my exams and I took my x-ray with me. The sealed envelope also went with me for me to take to the inerview, and the doctor told me right there and then everything was fine with my vaccines.
