Well I got my letter with my Biometrics appt this morning - 1st May in OKC.

We sent back our RFE response 2 weeks ago which more than satisfied their requirements, so they must have been happy with it

There is just one slight fly in the ointment though!!!

I sent all my crucial paperwork (birth cert, passport, marriage cert) to the US Embassy in Washington on the 8th March to get my name change done. At the time I had not even returned the RFE so I thought no probs I will get it through before Biometrics etc - I mean they NEVER move this fast usually!!

Just my luck they have speeded along and all my id stuff is still at the embassy. I just called them at $2.10 per minute and have requested that they expedite my passport application PLEASE. They won't promise anything but the nice gentleman did comment on the fact that the US Immigration Service take everything very seriously and he will ask for me to be done in time.

Question - on the Biometrics letter it states ' Photo ID - Passport, Driving License, National ID, Military ID or State Issued ID'. Ok - does this mean I could just go with my letter and my British driving license which has my photo on - anyone else done this?

I am also looking into getting a state ID but I think you need your Birth Cert for that and its at the embassy!!

Dont quote me on this but I dont think you will be able to use your British Driving Licence as government issued photo ID. Even if your passport is in your maiden name it is okay, but obviously you dont have your passport on you! Hopefully you will get all your documents back before May 1st but if not, go along to the appointment anyway, you have nothing to lose! Good Luck.
