I have read an AP emergency experience at other forum that you can ask for an emergency advanced parole just going to USCIS local offices near you. without getting an infopass appointment,He got there in by "walkin" and was entertained by just bringing a copy of his pending AP application. WOW!!!that's a great news, is'nt it? I am posting this thread if somebody can give also everyone idea or advise thru sharing own experienced about getting a sucessful emergency AP.

I did'nt apply for I-131 concurrent with AOS filing. But then , recently i decided to go home for personal reasons about my kids outside US .Right after my interview on 11/15 I want to book my ticket but my problem is I am worried about what would be the result of my interview. If I would be lucky having an improved AOS, get the card quikly or stamped my passport with I-551 well then,no need for AP am I right? BUT>>>>>if I will be on the line of pending name check...this would be a BIG problem for me. My question is>>>

1) does all D.O or local offices accept walkin on applying emergency AP?

2) How many days will it take to get the AP thru infopass apointments...do they take days...or weeks?

3) what are the documents you have to submit for asking an emergency AP? Do I need to submit proof of reasons why I am applying for it? All i know is they just giving it by giving them the proof of hospitalization or something you (blank) you know... :crying: Oh God!

Thankyou and all advices would be appreciate

You can only get an emergencey AP if you have a life or death situation.... you will need evidence to prove the emergency, like a letter or fax from the hospital or funeral home... if you are approved at AOS interview you can ask for the I-551 stamp but you might not get it.... you could apply on the spot for emergency AP but remember to take your proof with you...

Finally someone answered my question...thankyou kezzie! yeah..I have read that...Oh goodness I don't want to be on that situation  I think if there's no way I'll just apply I-131 normally. So if someone is on the start of applying AOS now ,it is better to apply AP concurrent with AOS. I'ts a lesson for me :(

yeah. i read the post you had in your first article before as well. i think that guy was just SUPER SUPER lucky. and that doesn't happy so often.

i visited 2 different offices to expedite AP--NYC almost gave it to me the day of my visit till they found out i live in CT; Hartford, CT just turned me down cold-heartedly though i do have some evidence (it's just not sooo serious as a 'life or death' situation).

remember you might need to go for an interview at that same office. if yours is a small office, you do not want them to remember you in the bad way...haha...you know what i mean.

btw, i heard normal AP won't necessarily arrive b/4 your AOS gets approved. so DO apply for AP w. AOS since the fee ($1010) for AOS also includes AP and EAD anyway. but since it's not emergency AP, just keep praying in the hope that you're one of the lucky people. good luck.

Thanks cuttiebanker! I have search anywhere about AP problems. I have read also somewhere ...I don't remember where ,during their interview the IO issued a certificate or something with a written note that she is allowing to travel . I read another case also that the IO told her that if she want to travel you can go and get an info pass by just showing the AOS approval and she can leave the country. It's a mistake for me that i have lost the website for informations. But I will try to search again for this and I will post it next time.

Anyway thans again.

:)I have searched about 2007 AOS interview experienced about having No application for travel document...I think it can help me or someone with same questions.SAMPLE CASE:

At some point after about 40 min interview and going through our whole I-485 files the officer said that the documents provided are enough for him to approve our cases. He mentioned that from that date ahead we both are Permanent Residents of the USA and we should receive our cards within 2 months from the date of the interview. I have asked him to put a stamp on our passports since we are going to travel and we need to be able to enter the country when we come back. He stamped our passports with 1 year temporary Green Card stamp.
