Today is an in-service day for my daughter, so we're staying home and roasting pumpkin seeds and making cookies with the left over candy. I bought a little too much candy this year, oops. First Halloween at a new place.

Today is another great day as my husband was called today for orientation for the job that he took the drug test for yesterday. I am very excited as you can imagine he is also and the great thing is that his only friend that he met in ESL is also in orietation today and from what they where told they will work the same shift. I pray that will be the case cos his friend doesn't drive. I know whatever is suppose to happen will and Thank you God for all you do for me.

Got paid Yesterday from one job and will get tomorrow from my day job so this is a great week. Will be so much better when Hasan is getting paid but I am very greatful that we are able to live comfortably with just me working.

Congrats on the Gummy Bear Jess!

My coworkers brought in all their leftover candy from the lack of trick or treaters.....where were all the kids? We only had 3 and they came in the same group! Apparently my coworkers didn't get any either so we have 3 huge bowls sitting on the conference table.

We hardly had any kids at the house either. We were bombarded at the office and ran out of candy in the first hour! It was insane. Im expecting the candy exodus at home, but nope. Ive got a ton of those lovingly prepared goody-bags leftover, so I guess Ill just get sugared-up and rund around the house wearing 100 glow bracelets.

In less exciting news, Ahmed was registered for NSEERS today. *Grunt* We arrived early for the appointment at the address given on the letter. At 9 when our appointment was originally scheduled, they tell us to shove off to another immigration office in another town. They rescheduled our appointment without any notice! It took us an hour to find the other office. "We'll be right with you" turned into an hour and a half (and we were the only ones waiting). They took poor Ahmed by himself and interviewed him for an hour and could not understand why on earth he had no SSN, no liscense, no job, etc. Sheesh, do any of these immigration offices communicate with each other at all? We finally escaped at almost 1pm. Oh and had to pay 4 bucks for the privelege of parking in their dilapidated lot. Arrrggghhhh. I was so tempted to march my fat butt up to the window and shriek "Can my husband please have his stupid green card before our child goes to college?".

Were you able to get ANY information out of them about any other hang ups that might come along?

Nope. Im still having trouble explaining all the hang-ups to Ahmed, bless his heart. Its hard enough for me to understand and its doubly difficult to put it into working terms for him, so I know he's very frustrated. Since I wasnt in there to listen to the interview, Im not really sure what they told him. They did seem rather uninformed about our situation, despite the fact the special agent had a copy of our AOS app/packet in front of him. Its probably just as well I wasnt in there. Hormones would have taken over and I probably would have gotten myself arrested  Arrghh. Im just hoping something will come of all this soon. If I had know AOS was going to be such a ####### I would have filed for the EAD, despite USCIS's "advice".
