hmmmm.......... disrespecting the flag?

bushflag.jpg

In July 2003 President Bush autographed a small flag.

This picture was circulated across the Internet noting its violation of the Flag Code:

Acording to flag regulations....

"The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature."

bush911.jpg

September 11, 2006, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush stand on a carpet of the American flag at Ground Zero in Manhattan, the site of the September 11, 2001 attack.

Section 8b of the Flag Code reads, " The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground..."

well duh, Bush is the least patriotic, and was always the worst choice for president ever. thats nothing new :)

I never have placed my hand over my heart for the National Anthem or the Pledge.

Me either during the National Anthem. I stand just as Obama is standing, with my hand folded in front of me while facing the flag.

During the pledge al alligance, of course I do.

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

The thing is...if you really look at the flag code, just about everything is a no-no including having a flag embroidered on something, cakes made to look like flags and flags being carried onto a field during an athletic event.

Bin Laden.......

Well, but here's the key point: You're not running for president. Obama is. So he's being held to a higher standard than the "average joe or jane." Is that necessarily fair? Maybe, maybe not. The position of President of the United States of America is a very influential and powerful one. So perhaps it's not asking too much to expect candidates who're running to perform and behave in ways that most "normal" people may not.

I know I haven't always put my hand over my heart during the National Anthem or Pledge of Allegiance either (and I consider myself a patriot too), but once again, I am not a presidential candidate. I don't have the ever-present media and millions of citizens watching my every move.

If I was in that position, perhaps I'd do things a little differently. I don't know for sure, since I'm too smart to run for president. The very last thing I'd want is CNN or FOX News reporting on my morning bowel movement.

If the hand over heart thing is important to you, I guess you're going to get your knickers in a knot over this devastating piece of news. If not, you'll just care if the guy knows his politics...or not. My opinion is of course, that way too much emphasis is placed on etiquette and not enough on policies.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

This doesn't change my opinion of Obama one bit. I don't like his voting record in Congress, his position on several issues, his politics, and I have no plans to vote for him anyway. I don't like the other Democratic candidates either.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

Bottomline is!

If he's not smart enough to realize he will get negative responses from his actions and how to act!

He sure isn't smart enough to be president!
