People are never going to agree on a solution to this kind of problem. And coming to some middle ground will never happen either. People can go round and round trying to figure out what to do. One of the reasons that the Pres in The Commander in Chief. If there was 535 people in charge nothing would happen. Now bring in the International Community, again nothing happens. Iran is now threatening Europe if sanctions are imposed. Is Europe going to cave in to the threats?

Everyone thinks somthing should be done to take care of the problem/potential problem. How long do we wait , until something happens then react? Just ignore it and let someone in the region take care of it (Israel, Russia, China, India)?

Dunno – I tend to lean toward the idea that making no decision can be better than making a really, really bad one. And its all well and good talking about potential threats and being ‘proactive’ about heading them off at the pass – but none of that justifies cooking the books to make mountains out of relative molehills.

If this is a 'real' threat - we've done ourselves a disservice by already committing huge amounts of money, manpower and resources to countering a rather mediocre one.

No decision might be a worse deciaion. I agree, "Enroning" the books is a pretty snakey way to justify something, especially a war. Only history will show if Iraq was a mistake or not, it too soon to tell.

IMO, If Saddam was still in power we wouldn't be having this conversation. Iran would be worried abut Sunni power in Iraq.

I don't think history will remark much on Iraq except as one dirty little episode in a series of dirty little episodes. Hardly the French Revolution.

Bush seems to have a hard-on these days for "letting history be his judge". I think history will judge him as the incompetent he clearly is.
