YES!!!! 4 emails in my inbox from CRIS this morning. 2 for the I-485 and 2 for the I-130. Saying they mailed the notice welcoming the new PR and the approval notice for the I-130 on March 4th.

I received my green card in the mail today -- 14 days following the approval.

I hope those of you who are still waiting get yours very soon.

OK, here is an update for us: we received the RFE, and, as expected and feared, it was about the medical which, no surprise, they have lost it.

Like many others here, we have tried to solve it without spending additional money. We addressed our congressman, and, even though not quite as expected, he did help. The person in charge with the immigration issues answered us promptly that she can recommend us a doctor which will perform the full medical for 60 $. I tried to convince her, over the phone, that I would rather have her try to discover my lost medical, but eventually I decided to have the new medical, as the time lost (hers and mine) and the stress (mine) would mean much more than 60 $.

I did not believe that it would cost me so little and I believed it completely only today, when I am holding the envelope and the copy in my hand. So, in the end, I guess the help was significant. One more reason to go ahead and call your representative in case you encounter such a problem.

I pray that this is the end of it and we received the GC soon... Wishing you all good luck and God help, B.

Hi and congratulations to all those who have been approved and a speedy processing for the others. I have filed 10 days ago for my AOS and no NOA yet. Is there any way I could enquire on the status of my application? A phone number you might have used if you were in a similar situation?

I am sure you understand my concern especially as if you look at the majority of NOAs they are about 10-14 days, so one month would be really an exception. I was hoping there is a way to contact and enquire which maybe other members of the forum have used. Thanks.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a very consistent correlation between cases being transferred to CSC and cases being RFE'd for lost medicals? Same thing happened to us, and like you, we decided to just fork over the money and get another medical (although we paid somewhat more than $60). We just want the green card approval and are tired of the waiting and the nail-biting. I wonder if for some reason the medicals are being separated from the petitions prior to being transferred to California??

I recently speculated that this is because we send our packages to chicago and they are transferred to CSC. I was told at the airport that my medical would be forwarded to my local USCIS office. Therefore I am guessing there is some disconnect between the CSC and the local USCIS office.

Tanya, you might be right. I read a post here on VJ of someone who was eventually told (through his/her congress person, of course), that there is a temporary file that goes to CSC and the permanent file I think it either goes to NSC or to the local office, I can't recall it exactly right now. So yes, I guess it's SO HARD to pick up the phone and call in both places and ask "Hey guys, do you happen to have this medical over there?" before sending our a RFE. But, let's face it: a RFE makes it look like you are taking care of the file, while gaining some more time to get others done... It adds up at numbers, right?

Sad to see that people will be people everywhere in the world, especially if working for the government. And the saddest thing of all was to hear the immigration specialist from my congressman's office who gave me as a final argument: "Bianca, this is USCIS; do you really wanna fight them?!"

Well, I heard that too much in my country, but I really didn't expect it to hear it here. I am a fighter usually, cause I'm a lawyer, but this time I realized that there are more important issues to consider, as, for example, my hubby's fear to end up living in Romania
