we applied for all three applications...but only got two NOA1s...should we be worried?

We shipped packet to Chicago yesterday. Did anyone that sent a money order get confused on what address to put on the money order. It's written to US Dept of Homeland Security but it's being sent to Chicago. I put the Chicago address because I didn't know. Does anyone have a clue?

Got my biometrics appointment date yesterday (Dec 3) and was rejected for advanced parole - for some reason... no idea why!

We filed on November 29th...all three.

Now we play the waiting game.

We filed i-485, i-765 and i-131 on 11-09. Got NOA dated 11-14. Did biometric yesterday (12/03). I-485 and i-765 was touched yesterday and today. How do i know if the fbi name check has been cleared?

Check cleared today, but I cannot track the case number online which is on the back of the check MSCxxxxxx

It happened to me as well. When i saw the case number at the back on my check, I immediately check the status online but it was not there yet.

But after getting the NOA in the mail, my case status is already available online.

I also tried tracking by numbers on the returned checks, but no luck. When I finally received the NOAs, they had different MSC numbers than what was on the checks, so I guess that might be part of the problem.

Some posted that they were not able to check their status online until a few days after biometrics.

Checked our AOS status online this morning and was surprised to see a touch...opened the case and saw this message:

Current Status: Notice returned as undeliverable.

On December 4, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.

I frantically called USCIS to "update" our address...which is strange considering that we have not moved. Apparently there was either a misprint on the envelope when they typed our address or it was a mishap of our rather unreliable postal service here in DE.

We've had a string of bad luck lately with our mail being misdelivered and not delivered (which is why it took ~8 weeks for Ozzy's SS card to arrive) and also with receiving mail addressed to recipients whose addresses are not even remotely close to ours. It's a little scary to realize that receiving our mail is apparently a crapshoot...

Ozzy is considering threatening our postwoman with a lawsuit LOL. I think I convinced him that would be counterproductive, but he is definitely planning to have a chat with her tomorrow.

Anyways, we hopefully got it straightened out with USCIS and the representative assured me that if we miss the biometrics appointment because we didn't receive the appointment letter in time (I'm almost 100% sure that's what the piece of mail was that was returned to them), we can just take the appt. letter to the USCIS local office and have the biometrics done. God, I hope he is right....I'm still nervous about the whole thing but at least I know now what the problem was. Waiting and wondering was driving me crazy!!

Well, we still haven't got our NOA1 or have the cheques cleared and I cannot describe my state of mind

On USCIS' site it says that they were having problems lately and that the sending of the confirmations (first NOAs) is delayed up to 15 (!!!) weeks, but then they give a link where it shows that they are up to date with applications sent to uscis lock box... so I called the day before yesterday and it turns out that no, I am not in the system yet, so they didn't even open my envelope so far.

She told me to wait 15 weeks from the date I sent and I asked her what about the fact that uscis still guarantees to give an answer regarding the EAD in 90 days??! How about the fact that on your site it says you are up to date with NOAs in this matter?

Of course I told the lady that I realize there's nothing much that she can do, so... she told me to give it another week or 2 and call again.

I am trying very hard not to let this spoil the approach of Christmas...
