Where does it say to wait 4 weeks to get to NVC? I really hope it's less.

I hate to be a bearer of the bad news but from my latest tracking/readings here on VJ, most approved(NOA2) petitions are taking anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks(as of recent) and I think for some apps it has taken even more time/weeks to transfer to NVC. Hopefully, I am wrong on my deduction.

I still haven't recieved my NOA2 yet but this long transfer delay to NVC(once NOA2 is recieved) is depressing and disheartening to me, as for many here, I am sure. For me(and I guess for most post April/May filers), this is yet another blow. I still remember back when I filed my wife's I130/K3 petitions in Mid-May, the USCIS to NVC transfer time was just 4 - 6 DAYS and NOT 4 - 6 WEEKS. Anyhow, at this point, I personally would be just happy to receive a NOA2.

Sorry once again but unless something changes, this is the reality. I would rather have my mind psychologically ready for 4 - 6 weeks than NOT because otherwise when I get disappointed, it hurts too much, just like my increasing timeline to receiving NOA2. :(

Good Luck to all.

Overall, I agree with your assessment; however, I think we will see the the P-3 and P-4 times move a little faster, based on some other anecdotal info I have been observing. We both have almost identical I-130 and I-129F time frames and we both share the last 'touch' back in July. I, too, am still waiting for the NOA-2. If I had realized there would be this flood of filings to beat the fee increase deadline, I surely would have filed a month or six weeks earlier. I have no one but myself to blame for that factor. The bottom line is, that for those of us who filed in this May-June period we're at the start of the flood, and we will still stay ahead of the main larger wave as each step is reached !! Also, the bulk of our time has already passed by and what lies ahead will not be as great a time period, overall. I expect we will see the P-2's in this next week to ten days !!! Think positive !!

I know someone who applied for her parents I-130 at the end of June and got her approval in August so nothing they say is written on stone. I hope this makes you guys feel a little better.

Also, it takes about 2 weeks for the NVC to receive the approval from the USCIS, this I know from experience.

My hubby and I are really frustrated right now. I filed at the end of August to Nebraska SC and still nothing. The USCIS website says Nebraska is processing applications received as of 10/10. I finally called on Friday. I was really nice but the guy was rude. :( Anyway he told me that is just an estimate and if my check has not been cashed (which it hasn't) then they have not begun processing.

I'm a little worried because I'm moving this week and have no idea how to change my address for a file they haven't processed. I am also bummed that USCIS finally hit a date after our application was received and yet nothing.

This is not fun. I've been married for 3 months and have spent 2 weeks with my husband.

07/18/2007: Married in Gretna Green, Scotland

08/29/2007: I-130 Application Recieved at NSC

12/21/2007: Received NOA1 from CSC

01/08/2008: Touched-Change of Address

The NVC wait may have been 2 weeks earlier in the year but, unfortunately, it definitely isn't now :( We know this because of the delays people in the April thread have seen.

JenAlex,

Lots of people here understand what you're going through. I've been married for 8 months and have been lucky enough to spend 7 weeks with my hubby, spread out over the year, but it is still hard. Unfortunately, you'll find most of USCIS to be unhelpful. Their current response to everything is "phone back in 30 days".

I wish you the best on your journey :)

I found this while looking for the posting figures for another thread. As we all know the customer service line is unhelpful, who knows if this will help:-

IMPORTANT:

Contact Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-375-5283 for:

Change of Address – If you have submitted your application and are changing your address, but have not yet received your receipt. (If you have a receipt, you can report your change of address from our website, using USCIS' Change of Address Online.)

Unusual Delay – If you have not received a receipt within the timeframe indicated below for the Service Center where you filed your application.

These are the 2 centres that are processing I130/I129Fs:-

California Service Center

Form Number Date Received

I-130 8/30/2007

N-400 8/06/2007

All Other Forms 10/16/2007

Vermont Service Center
