Hi it's me again with another question

I'm trying to find where my finace would have his interview in Tunisia, so I went on the site and could not find any information on the k1 visa, I want information about what I would need for the interview. I'm just going to have to wait right?

I'm not positive but I think they group those in with "non immigrant" visas.

I have been to the consulate four times and the fiancee interviews take place there as well as interviews from Libya and other places. The striking thing about this consulate is how empty it is. No one in the waiting rooms. No one in the hall ways. No one outside.. Its like a ghost town. I do not think it is a high traffic consulate and is very physically isolated from the surrounding area which is is called LAC. All visas for Algeria used to go through Tunisia before they opened up the Algiers Consulate. But even then in 2002 when I visited it was empty back then. You will not see alot of waits out of there and I met the consular officer. You never see anyone except behind glass and you cannot see anyone without an appointment although there does not seem to be alot of people working there. The embassy was the same physical building as it was in 2002 except all the other streets had been cleared out that used to be in front of it with bulldozers and now there is a crash barricade as well as the embassy has several layers including a security wing that was not there before..

Several things,

The burden of proof seems to be pretty high going through this consulate in particular and I have seen alot of marriage cases turned down and k 3s revokedOne of my good friends had a k1 denied and then turned around and did a k3 and had a soft denial and kept fighting it and eventually they approved it . I think alot of that has to do with the ease of which you can get married in Tunisia ( 1 week) You are a k1 visa so I would not worry alot about the consulate. Just have all your correspondance and papers in order and photographs and proof and heavily document everything and you will be fine.. You have some other issues like the police clearance and some other things.. so the embassy is not the biggest problem actually. If you can get to the embassy phase and somehow the police is not a problem, you will be fine. In my opinion based on the nature of the things you described, I would get a consultation with an immigration attorney to talk about the charges and their nature so that he can give you a good idea if you will need waivers and help you decide a course of action. The only reason I am telling you this is because in a previous thread you mentioned he is living in Italy and has a record. These things can all add up and you need to talk to someone who can sort it all out.. Anytime you add other things to the mix, you might need to change your course of action. The most encouraging thing I could tell you is to not worry about the embassy so much and to call an attorney and pay the 100 fee and get a real consulation with all the different angles so you can plan your course of action

Can u recommend a immigration lawyer? Your right! I'm so scared & stressed out!! I don't know what I'll do if we get denied!!! I'm actually going to call the US consulate in naples and see if in my situation they'll let Khaled have a interview there. Reason for, He had his documents and they just never been renewed. A girl can only try.

I'm sorry, but I've been doing so much research and his crimes that he told me about are not in any of the lists, nor has he b een convicted of anything he says.

I have a problem: I don't have tons of pictures but I have a few pictures for every year we have been together, but some people have like 60 to 80 pictures of themselves :o ha Khaled and I don't have that many. I don't have any of my boarding tickets but I have itinerays but not any boarding passes. OMG I'm hypervenilating.........

My family is creating our holiday card, They visited us in Aug, and we as a family(Khaled included) took a Family picture which we will be giving out for X-mas. It's nice infront of the colosseum. Great picture! I thought that would be great evidence, I have tons of phone records but Khaled doesn't I don't know if Vodafone gives printed call lists, (I should check about that). Thats it thats all I have, I'm screwed!!!

Is it a good idea(good question for the lawyers) to have our roomates write out affadavits, about our relationships, anyone think that would work?

There are a couple of good ones.... I would first determine what you want to spend.... You will do much better with one based on your story I think

Hi... my husband who is from libya also had to go to tunis for his K1 interview. Its at the american embassy what they wanted from him was some emails we wrote each other things like that. They arent as strict as some consulates are. this was in 2005 but everything went fine and he got his visa the same day as his interview.

I think it depends on the petitioner and who is running the place at the time. I have seen multiple k3 petitions revoked and all kinds of mess.....k1 has alot less to deal with than marriage which is what I stated and its very easy to get married there which is going to lead to maybe some problems with the k3s.. Like I said to her, because she has some other issues like police stuff, she needs to talk to an attormeu at least have a consultation.
