Do most USC attend Consulate interviews with their fiances/spouses?

My husband didn't come with me....only because we had bought tickets for him to come in march, and we found out my interview date was in April AFTER we bought the tickets...At least we knew it was the last time we would say goodbye and we didn't cry

I faced the Americans alone I kinda would have liked for him to be there, but after I thought it would have been a waste for him to take more vacation time for that because the interview was quite short and easy itself. We kept his time for when he came to pick me up so we had 1 week together for my first week in the US

i would have loved for my hubby to be there for moral and emotional support but it really wasn't worth the expense...

I was in and out of there with my visa in hand before 12 or 1 pm... this was back in the day when they were still giving out the visas the same day....

I had booked my flight home for the following morning so I had a whole afternoon and evening to kill...

I did not go to Derek's interview. Mostly a financial decision, but Montreal is his hometown so I knew there would be plenty of people around to support him if necessary.

And now that he is here, he has to face the Ultimate American everyday - me!

Nope, they are not required to be there, but if possible, have them come along(if you can afford it). I wish I had mine there. He could have eased my tension in soooo many ways LOL. I'm just kidding. Wait, no I'm not!

Yeah, when my husband came with me we were banking on the visa being issued so we went to Vancouver, then flew back to Toronto for a few days, then packed up my stuff into the cube and then headed for the border. We had the cube and the rental cars booked in advance. If I didn't get the visa I suppose he would have been helping to move me into my parents house since I also already gave my landlord notice that I was leaving April 1st and he already had my apartment rented. Oh I had already quit my job too... Whew! I don't advise doing what I did...

March 15th - last day of work

March 19th - K3 interview

March 22nd - cube drop off

March 23rd - vehicle rental

Don't do what I did! It worked out to a T but gah, I was stressing the entire time up to the interview.

mine came but only cuz her and my son were living with me at the time and they were flying home after my interview so she could have our 2nd baby.. worked out good too. he was a nice asian guy (vancouver) didnt really ask much other than small talk..

I went with my Baby. Logistical reasons really but I wouldn't have missed it. The only real plus was I got to go pay the fee and she didn't have to leave the interview "booth".

Originally Gene was going to come with me to the interview. I had actually asked Vancouver for a specific date as he was going to be in Washington State during that week, so thought he could come up for the interview, and then we'd spend some time in Vancouver. His trip was cancelled though. We then decided (Our interview was November 17), that we'd rather be together at Christmas. Over 4 years of being together, we'd never spent Christmas together! So, Gene didn't come to the interview. I personally didn't feel that it was essential. I did stay however for 4 days in Vancouver on my own and had a really great time. There are lots of times I love being on my own, doing my own exploring. I had a really really good time! Gene btw, did make it up for Christmas and it was dreamy.
