I believe so. When you say purchased in the petitioner's country, did you mean thru travel agency or e-ticket?

The only thing to be careful about is if the tickets were purchased as electronic tickets with a credit card, some of the airlines require the presentation of that credit card at check-in for the flight. So, if you will be traveling alone with an E Ticket purcahse via credit card by someone else, You may want to call the specific airline to be sure you wont have a problem.

I've purchased tickets in the Philippines and in the US with no problems. They care less where you pay as long as you pay!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Yes, If you're going to book online, make sure your beneficiary have the e-ticket or e-receipt. Just make sure she print it and bring it in the airport as her airline ticket.

I've done it when she got her tourist visa and there's no hassle for her.. I booked it in US then send her the e-receipt. She wasn't asked for the credit card use on the purchase. So, she got here and we're together! :whistle:

Your one of the first I've ever heard of whos' girl got a tourist visa from the filipines. I thought it was near impossible.

Most of Marlene's friends that have applied for tourist visas have gotten them. They all had good paying jobs and savings.

getting a tourist visa is not impossible in phil but its true there's only 10% of a chance for you to get one. lol. especially if you're single and no ties... some get lucky though. my cousin applied for a tourist visa and got here in the US. however her brother applied too and got denied. lol...

4/16/2010- signed and delivered

4/29/2010- check cleared

The Philippine citizen must have a stable job, show ties that require return to the Philippines, show proof of not becoming a public charge in the US, and must have more than 1 year's salary of the current US poverty level in savings to get a Tourist Visa.

Arlyn started to go this route, but then she got an amazing job offer in California and decided to get a work visa. Then, she fell in love with me, and threw it all away so we could file K1.

Love is so powerful. :devil::)

I've read that if you are flying PAL they require seeing the credit card, but that U.S. airllines and affiliates just require the e-ticket and passport.

If the credit card owner is not part of the travelling party and is unable to present the credit card, clear photocopies of the front of the credit card and the valid PHOTO ID of the credit card owner shall be required from the passengers at the ticket collection point or at check-in.
