This may be a silly matter

But I want to preserve my wedding dress and bouquet. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I read somewhere that for the dress, you should have it cleaned, and then save in an acid free box, with acid free paper? Where do I get this "acid free" things? Any other recommended methods?

I'm letting my bouquet dry upside down, but unsure what to do after it's dried

:help:

Saludos,

Caro

check with several dry cleaners in your area, they probably have all the materials and in fact can do it all for you.

Yep, C is right...check with the drycleaners in your area.

Actually, I'd check with the bridal place where you bought the dress....maybe they have recommendations. The reason why I say this is cos when I got my last gown preserved, it cost $100 and you can't open it to 'check' to see if they did it right...so you're just going off their word.

Thank you guys! The store where I bought the dress recommended woolite instead of drycleaners (and that works out better for me, because I don't trust drycleaners ;) ) but they might have the packaging stuff

I'll look into it, thanks again

If you have trouble with finding acid-free materials, I humbly suggest contacting your local museum. They should have names and numbers of archival supply companies where you can call and order materials, either through the museum or yourself. This way you know that you are using truly acid-free tissue and cardboard. There are a lot of companies out there that market their stuff as "acid-free" that aren't really acid-free.
