We arrived at the office around 8:15am for the 8:30am appointment. There was a small line outside

the building but this line was moving at a nice pace. The first person we saw was a security guard

outside asking for identification and the appointment letter. We showed him what he wanted and

we stepped into the building to be x-rayed and whatnot. Once that was done with we went upstairs

to the second floor and stood in line behind a receptionist. This also moved pretty fast and once we

got to the front of the line the receptionist only asked for the appointment letter, stamped it and told

us to sit down and wait for our name to be called.

There were about 6 other groups of people waiting with us, so we figured we wouldn't have to wait long

and we were right ... we waited about 30 minutes before they called us. I guess they don't really go in

the order that you come in but we had no complaints.

The guy who interviewed us asked us to follow him to his office. He asked me to sit on the first chair to

his right, to place any documents I have on the chair to my right, for my wife to sit on the next chair, and

for her to put her purse on the last chair. He then asked me for my driver's license and passport, wrote a

couple of things down and handed them back to me. He asked my wife for her passport and any government

ID card she has, the EAD in her case. He then asked her the date I was born and the address where we live.

He also asked her some of the YES NO questions from form I-485, Part 3. Have you ever commited a crime,

do you intend to engage in espionage, etc. He then asked me what day we got married.

Finally, the interviewer asked for any collaborating documents I have (up to this point he only had asked me

for my ID and the date of our marriage.) I showed him my car insurance printout showing both our names and

our bank statements. I was looking for another document but he said that he has enough. He then asked my

wife to sign some paper, I have no idea what it was. He also asked me for anything showing how much money I

make like a paystub.

A couple stamps here and a few marks there and as he was still stamping he said that we got approved

yippeyo, yippe-eye-aye. He also took my wife's EAD card and said that she won't be needing it anymore.

The entire interview took but 20 minutes.

The items I posted here are the only things he asked for. He didn't need to see any pictures, didn't ask for her birth certificate,

didn't ask for our marriage license, the I-693, or any of the previous USCIS documents.

He didnt ask you any of the standard questions, like: where did you meet, how many times did you travel to her, etc?

Nothing. Only what I posted.

I should've prefaced my post by saying that I was meticulous in compiling everything they needed when I initially sent in the applications.

Do you recall the name of the adjudicating officer? Sounds like we had the same AO. Anyway, it's nice to read that you didn't have problems at all w/ the interview.

Yes, thank you. I hope you all get the interviewer we had, but I'm sorry I can't remember his name. I believe he's from South East Asia, and you'll know you're with the right person if you see an old black & white Army picture of himself behind him.

I should also state that he didn't ask for many documents because he apparently had copies of those. Not sure why others might get asked for them since they were probably previously submitted. I guess it really depends on who you get. Kind of scary the power these people hold to affect lives; a couple before us didn't look too good.

Good luck everyone and thanks for the congrats!
