I have been informed by the NVC automated system that my IV Fee Letter was generated on 10/22/07, and that it "will be mailed out in a few weeks".....from your experience here, how long realistically should I expect them to wait before putting in the mail to send out to me? What is the typical time between generating it and them actually sending it out, and me receiving it?? I sure hope it's not 6 weeks! Yikes!

Anyone have any idea? Thanks for any help you can provide....

2 weeks was what I experienced, and then after they receive payment, 1 week for it to post to the case. Total delay to submit payment: 1 month

I would also like to mention here, in case you are interested, that while we don't have a bullet-proof shortcut for the IV fee bill yet because of a mysterious serial number included in one of the barcodes on the payment coupon, I have put together a document with ideas on how it might be possible to nevertheless shortcut the IV fee payment process by making and submitting a defective payment coupon which might still be adequate for automated processing by barcode.

The document can be read here: IV fee bill shortcut ideas

Obviously, there are always risks associated with not using official NVC forms, and even more risk by trying one of the unproven techniques suggested in that document. However, given the long time that it takes NVC to send out a bill (not to mention the fact they require a physical money order to mailed in; no provision to accept payment by wire transfer), the amount of time it might take for NVC to fix a payment posting problem if a technique doesn't might balance out to the same as if you waited for the real bill.

Just another idea I wanted to throw out in case anyone is interested. If this had been around when I needed to submit IV payment, I probably would have tried it.

It took my IV bill nearly 4 weeks to reach me. My guess is that it was just really enjoying the lovely NH summer air and decided to hang out at the NVC for two extra weeks.

Mine was generated on 10/22/2007 also, and I received in mail on 10/29/2007, so that would be one week. But for Affidavit of Support Bill took two weeks to get in the mail and I'm still waiting for Affidavit of Support forms.

I've received the packets from NVC in as little as 2 days, up to 2 weeks. I'm waiting on another one that (apparently) just got mailed. It's been 2 days so far. :)
