Im so bad with separation and I wanna be together with my fiancé, Is it possible for my finance to get a visitors visa for 90days while we are processing? He lives in Japan. If not, I really want to go over there to stay with him. I will have an address here in the US for anything that needs to be mailed to me while we are processing. But then my other concern would be, if I go over there I wouldn’t be working of course, so then my income wouldn’t be sufficient according to the min poverty levels requirement. So anyone have any other suggestions??? What can I do, I know it sounds stupid, but im dying from separation, Im sure many of you feel the same way! Plus with the delay in things where I am processing, the California Center, makes it even worse, even longer to think about! Thanks!

I don't think they would issue him a visitors visa because you have started the process..if he does decide to come visit you, he must show strong ties to Japan, showing that he intends to return home. Example: Letter from employer stating he is returning to a job, property he owns, bank accounts, etc. Again, it's a game of chance...if he can't provide enough proof, he would be turned away and that's a wasted plane ticket.

If you go there for a visit, that's not a problem but if you are giving up a job...not so good unless you have a co-sponsor or have a job lined up for when you return that will provide you with the necessary income for the interview.

Best of luck!!!

Hmm... Why not apply for a Non Immigrant Visa (Tourist Visa) ?? I was separated from my Fiance for about 6 months but when I had the Tourist Visa I just visited him anytime I wanted. I just made sure that I had a return ticket alraedy issued.. cuz theyre gonna ask that when you get to the Immigration in US. Also, just say that you are still currently working and is just on leave. They wont check it anyways, just your word. My return ticket was good for three months and when I arrived in the US, Immigration issued me 6 months to stay.

It has been really hard the past couple of months, I guess you just have to tough it out. Im sure we'll all look back at this and smile... because all that separation and impatience will be worth the wait!!

Good Luck & Hang in there! :)

Regards,

Jhera

Maybe this is more of a question than an answer, but isn't Japan on the Visa waiver list? I think so because I had an exchange student from Japan visit my family several times with no Visa. I would think that a Japanese citezen can do 90 days as holiday.

Just my 2 cents....
