Hey guys, we've received our NOA2 and I submitted for my police certificate last week. However, last night I realised that I left off an address I lived at for about 8 months (Uni halls) 3 years ago. I went into my local station, who were as clueless as ever and gave me two phone numbers that were written on the application after waiting in there for an hour and a half. I called both numbers, and nobody answered. The numbers are 020 7230 4143 and 020 7230 2958. I also called a number listed on the Met's website that is supposed to be used for inquiries, but it's a recorded voicemail that doesn't help.

I really just want to know if this is a big deal. Does the certificate cover the whole of England, or just the region within my local station's jurisdiction? I have no cautions, no arrests and no convictions anywhere in the world.

One follow-up question, too: on our NOA2 it says the petition has now been forwarded to the listed embassy, but it doesn't list an embassy anywhere. Is this normal? We were under the impression it was forwarded to the NVC first, but our notice makes no mention of it at all.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It really shouldn't matter. It should be a subject access form that covers the country, and since it was uni halls it seems perfectly fine to have listed something like your parents' address as your residence. If you left gaps in time, they might contact you when someone comes to actually process it. But I wouldn't sweat it until then. :)

Sorry I can't answer the bit about the NOA2! We went directly through USCIS in London.

On my Irish police cert they actually list the addresses I gave them, but on the UK cert the addresses are really just so they can identify you, they are not on the resulting letter. They do a name check on the police computer for the whole country.

So your fine. don't worry
