Hello guys,

I mailed my 129f to TSC on April 4, 2006. Have not received any notice from them. Nor have they cashed my check as of now. From the messages posted here, it seems people receive their first notice (NOA1??) within a week!! Should I be worried?

Also could anybody explain how do you find out your were "touched"? and what does "touched" mean? Also how do you email with TSC? Will my notice letter explain these terms and guide me how to check whether or not I am "touched".

thanks,

VS

Well, since April 4 there have only been 7 business days. You also say you 'mailed' the case that day - you need to allow a few days for it to get there.

You can't email the service center.

Once your check has cleared, your bank might be able to tell you if there is a number on the back of the check. That number should be your case number and you can go to USCIS.gov, create an account profile and enter the case number. Then you will be able to see if you are 'touched' which essentially means somebody has handled your file. Otherwise, your NOA1 will have the case number on it and you can then go to USCIS.gov, follow the same steps, and track your case status.

Your NOA1 does tell you about USCIS.gov. But if you continue to research threads on VJ, you will find many answers to questions in advance.

Texas is a bit slow. Don't be surprised if your petition is transferred to CSC for processing either. Good luck and welcome to VJ

Even if you mailed it on April 4th, and it arrived April 5th (at the fastest) they would not have gone to pick it up until April 6th. Add onto that a day or two to mail the NOA1. So, basically, you gotta be patient, it will come! :)

I was jumpy too expecting my NOA1, but ya gotta be patient when you send your stuff to TSC. They have been routing quite a bit of stuff to CSC. Check out the timeline from my signature and it will give you a good idea of how long it will be until you get your NOA1.

Good Luck, and Welcome to VJ! :)

It's been more than 30 days and we've still not received anything from the Texas office. My fiance called for an update yesterday and he got through to a phone tree where a voice mail told him exactly what was written on the USCIS website - it takes 90-120 days to complete the K1 process.

The number he called was 1-800-375-5283. Is this normal to get a voice message or is it because yesterday was Good Friday, a day off for govenrment offices?

I'm sure he is calling the correct number because that was the number they quoted on the website. If he's not calling the right number, does anyone know which number he should be calling for the Texas office?

Thanks

Sacha

I hear that it's very hard to get to talk to a real person....... so the number is probably right but someone else here will advise you better!!

But according to the VJ Stats, it's taking about 72 days between NOA1 and NOA2 at the Texas Service Center. So if it's been only about 30 days, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little longer before being able to do something.

Good luck!!
