I agreed to move to the U.S. and marry my husband because we were helplessly in love and made each other laugh.

Would I do it again? That's a hard question to answer because I could never give my husband up now, so I guess the better question would be..... Would I only agree to talk to people (on the dating site I was on) that were from my home country (Canada)??? Yes!!!!!

That way, I would not have met an American and would still be living in Canada where I would really rather be, close to my two sons and my many friends.

Just being honest guys!!!!!

1_Why you wanted to marry your spouse , why you wanted to get engaged to your fiance.

2_How you do you feel now about thsi Decision?

i ill talk about my experience when you ask me lool

i know its hard to answer the second Question so do your best guys

Answer 1: I take Al Gore REALLY seriously on this global warming thing and when he said the whole earth is going to be flooded over I got scared and figured I'd better take action and marry someone who lives at a high elevation...

Answer 2: I finally found a guy who loves to dance in secret as much as I do, though you'd never guess it by looking at him.

Answer 3: I simply love him and want to spend the rest of my life with him... (L)

I can't describe the strange feeling of meeting someone and just knowing that this is HIM. The one person you want to have by your side in life, the one who compliments you, the one you want to start a family with. We were crazy about eachother and married 6 months after we met and needless to say no one but us thought it would last... It does come off as slightly insane I guess, but it worked for us =)

I'm in no way belittling love here, it did after all make me move across an ocean and leave my family and friends, job and security behind. But besides feeling special and warm and fuzzy inside because of the other, we have similar goals and values. Our priorities match, even if our political and religious views differ more often than not ;)

I'm not an open person, but he makes me talk by talking, and by listening.

He cares and shows it in so many little ways every day, from making sure to do things that needs to be done, but he knows that I hate doing more than he does, to taking the kids out for breakfast during the weekend so the house will be quiet and I can sleep in. That's pure luxery for a mother with young ones.

His humour is what made him stand out in the first place, he doesn't take himself too seriously. He makes me laugh, even when I just want to growl and be pouty. He's considerate, goofy, bright (though not as intelligent as I am ofc :P ) and ambitious, but not overly so.

Sure he has his quirks and bad habits, and they do drive me nuts at times but I've come to realize I can live with them. I'm certainly not perfect either and I don't think I could stand living with someone who is, or thinks he is...

My husband is just a really, really good guy when it comes down to it. A great father. A wonderful, passionate lover (don't tell him I said that, it'll get to his head in no time!!!) And he's ALL mine. I feel incredibly lucky to have found him.

And he's damn lucky to have found me too :innocent:

Hmmm.. We had spent a couple months talking on the phone and decided to meet just to see what things were like in person. We had already talked about our goals, or dreams etc. and so much of it overlapped. We were pretty much sure in our own minds that the other person was someone we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with but needed to know what the "in person" thing was like.

We clicked, we realized that we were a great team and that being apart was not a reality we ever wanted again.

We of course are delighted with the decision... Life is so much more colorful for us both now.

Thank you for your honesty.

I feel the same. Would I trade my husband in now? No. But if I had to do it over again I wouldn't get involved with anyone outside of the US. It really is too much trouble. The visa process, the LDR, the adjustment once he got here, starting basically from scratch..again, waiting for the EAD, then the GC, etc. Not something I'd want to do over again.

I have known my Husband all my life.... Our mother became Pen Friends (through a post war School Pen Friend Club) when they were 12 years old, I spent every other summer with him, He was at my 1st wedding. I never thought about him in any other way (more like a cousin). I came over to spend some time with his family to recover from major surgery in Feb 2005 and well by March 2005 something happened (still not sure what) but we were in Love.... We took advice from a Family member who is a Federal Judge and got married and filed for AOS... the rest is history....

Would I do it all over again.... maybe, maybe not.... I miss my children and my beuatiful Grand daughter but I love my husband and I love living here in the US...

1. Because I couldn't find a girl as good as her if I spent my whole life searching the entire world.

2. I can't be with anyone else, she's the only one.

Bee and I found each other through some very impossible odds, and on top of that, our personalities enhance each other very well. And he puts up with my cold feet at night.

Do I regret moving to be with him? Only when I miss the Pacific Ocean outside my window. But can I live without him by my side? Never again.

(Besides, this process has only made us grateful for what we do have in our lives.)
