Bioshock is ace.

Too bad it's not out for Playstation. :( I heard it looks gorgeous.

I'm looking forward to Call of Duty 4, GTAIV, and Mercenaries 2.

I'm running it on the PC - I think its the only truly next-gen game out where the "recommended specs" call for a dual core processor and a 512mb graphics card.

It really is a very impressive piece of work - its basically a variant on the Doom-style FPS - but a lot of work has gone into the design of the environment, not just in terms of the graphics, but even down to the political philosophy of the city's founder (who I'm guessing is the big villain).

Story wise its really good. All the little audio diaries you pick up, foreshadow the story you play through as you go through the game. You will hit a cool twist about halfway through.

I read that the political philsophy behind Rapture is based on the work of Ayn Rand. Rand is pretty controversial (in the sense that her ideas are seen very much as early neoconservative) - but an interesting choice. Adds a whole layer to the game that sucks you right in.

At the moment I'm very early in - buggering around in the medical center trying to get a key-card from a mad doctor. I was making progress until I hit another locked door in the Dentists office.

Watch for DAH3 coming out in a few months. For classic arcade gameplay in a retro 70's environment, topped with a good dose of humor. ...and some really solid animation.
