Hi,

My Fiance had his interview at the Embassy in Casablance today. He met someone there who recommended this site and Ive been reading through this foum for the past few hours. I wonder if this post should be under the returned petitions section....?

We are both totally confused by his interview. :help: We did not have all the documents (birth cert etc) translated so upon arrival, he was told that he would need to have this done and drop them off at a later date. He was still

interviewed after this though, all be it breifly. He felt that the interview was positive in that the questions did not imply doubts about the validity of our relationship however the interview seemed almost too brief. They took all the completed visa application forms from him (the ones that are sent along with the letter stating the interview date). However, the woman did not ask to see our affidavit of support. She did not ask to see our photos of which we had many, nor did she ask to see our proof of an ongoing relationship.

She gave my fiance a standard letter stating that a visa was not issued due to lack of documents. It then said "the following remarks apply to your case:*

Please bring your police check, judicial celibacy and birth certificates along with English translations. You can drop them off at the Consulate any day....etc. Your case also requires administrative processing in Washington DC, we will contact you as soon as we can continue with your case.

What does additional administrative processing in Washington DC mean????? And why do they ask for translations but not the affidavit of support?

My fiance felt that the woman was encouraging and that she told him not to worry and that he would have an answer within a month. Can anyone shed any light? Thank you so much in advance.

I believe Administrative Processing is for missing documents that were submitted to be procesed. That's all I could think of.

Yeah sounds like you're in AR/AP. Just have your honey bring in the missing documents ASAP. They didnt look at my hubby's affidavit of support either, so dont worry :) Good luck for speedy AP!

Similar to what happened at my husband's interview last January. He had to get a new court paper. He returned it and was given the visa shortly after.

You have been approved pending all documents are submitted back and the security check out of Dc are completed. Tis can take anywhere from one week to 6 months..though Morocco tends to average a few weeks rather than months.

So you should defiantely start celebrating.

ETA: Morocco stopped requiring the affidavidt of support last year and thats why they did not need to see it.

AP in Washington DC is the standard security checks. Some people pass through them quickly; others take longer. This is the most difficult waiting part of the whole process because there is no timeline or guideline. Hopefully once your fiance gets the papers back to Casa the checks will be back and he'll have his visa soon after. I believe MBP's husband dropped his papers, got on the train home, and was called just a few cities out of Casa!

we didnt have to turn any papers in but we were still in AP for only a week thank God. the woman there said something like she sent something back to the USA and when it came back she could issue his visa. it is common for middle east men to be put in AP.

That's true, but our 221g also not NOT say adminstrative processing in DC was still needed. Only more evidence of communication and a new court paper. since the OP's says security checks pending, it may take a little longer than the same day after turnign back in the papers- depending on how long it takes to submit the papers.
