By the way, since when does the United States tell it's closest friends, countries that they have agreements with to defend, to just F off and defend themselves when threatened? That is not what the U.S. should do.

Also, there seems to be some real anti-semitism in this place. Calling Israel the "invaders" and the "terrorists" is typical Arab hatred of the Jewish state and frankly, I think if that kind of disgusting and vile bigotry is going to be voiced here, then this thread needs to be shut down right now.

Matt - you are generalizing. Not all arabs feel this way. I am an arab and I don't feel this way. There are definitly people in the middle east that think this way, but when you say "arab world" you are stereotyping all of us in that category. Not all countries in the Middle East are terrorist countries! Not all middle eastern people are terrorists! I'd like to know where you get your facts from.

Unfortunately, nearly every single Arab nation supports terrorism. It's a simple fact and cannot be denied. And as I said in another post, of course that does not meen everyone in that country is a terrorist or wants to be one or wants to kill jews. But the vast vast majority are all for "driving the Jews into the sea."

Using the phrase "the Arab world" is an accurate way of describing things, just like saying the Catholic Church was, at one time, run by a bunch of power mad liars who murdered countless innocents in their quest for glory.

The only treaty obligations I am aware of are NATO and Taiwan.

You do not need a specific treatty. The U.S. on dozens of occassions has stated it will defend Israel if they are attacked and request aid. This is as it should be. It is also one reason why the country still exists. Without that threat, Lord only knows what would happen.

Let me ask you this... why isn't there a treaty? When treaty obligations exist vis a vis Taiwan and Turkey (via NATO), why doesn't such a treaty exist for Israel?

There is no need. We don't have a treaty with every nation we have sworn to defend is called upon.

Now that Israel has nukes it would be truly insane for another country to attack them in a full frontal assault, or with nukes. Israel will not hesitate to defend themselves and good for them.

By the way, I am not Jewish. I am a non practicing Christian. What does that mean? Just that I do not go to church because I am not a fan or organized religion.
