peonyflowers99,

Congrats.:thumbs: Glad everything worked out. I will include this in the next update.

I've been away for a few days, congrats to everyone on their progress.

My Honey, I remember your frustration in getting your approvals from CSC, now look, you will have your interview sooner than many of us who were approved weeks before you. Everything has a way of working itself out, cheers and best of luck!

KingsleyPrincess,

I now March seems like it is forever and a week, but really its not that far off. At least you have your interview date. Our petition got the embassy on Nov 18, and we are still waiting for them to schedule an interview date. They are saying they will schedule it and send out notice by the end of Jan, so we are looking at a Feb interview at the earliest - for me I would be happy to have a date.

Here is the latest chart. 15 interviews scheduled, and 4 approvals.

Hi Urge,

Can you add me also to your list? My visa has been done on December 28, 2007, but am having problems with the trackpad of my laptop, and I can not post correctly...grrrr. I already have the plane tkts and we will be travelling on 31 of January 2008.

Thank you so much and wish you all the best for the coming New Year 2008!

Happy New Year to everyone in here and good luck to you all.

Hi Urge,

You are right! I had many frustrations with CSC... I am pleased in two weeks today I leave to be united with my husband and bring him back here with me!!:dance::dance: This Christmas and New Years wasn't the best but, we made due. When USCIS sent the RFE in October is truely was unjustied! But, God was on our side and we made up for some of the lost time CSC took away from us. Do you have your interview date yet? We are ready for our Interview and I'm ready to walk very proud and with my husband by my side at POE. 2008 is going to the best!!!:dance:

Good luck to you Urge....

Sure i'll share with you all... i entered in us for the first time in my life on 22nd Dec 2007... and my port of entry was Detroit. I was very surprised because everything was so easy. Not too many questions, not too many suspicions... the only questions was about me (name, city of birth), my wife (her address, her job) and our relationship (for how long we are married, for how long i intend to stay in the us, if i'll work). my advice... relax! it was a little chat ;) they asked me if i carry any food or alcohol, but they trusted me without any check of luggages (btw i had 2l of wine and some traditional cheese).

Anyway... the fact that i had a K3 visa and immigrant status mad that entry so easy. Be calm, be natural, be honest and everything will be perfect.

Now...about American life... is so very different than the Europe. the first thing i notice here is that the people are smiling all the time, they enjoy every minute of their life, they are relaxed... and they thank for everything. the driving is a pleasure... shopping too... and the beer is like tea :P so very light...

I'll share with you more thoughts when i'll change my status and start work. If you guys have any news and infos about AOS, ssn request and EAD, gc... and that stuffs plz let me know.

Until then enjoy your life! Keep in touch!

Torito, good to hear your experience. I don't think that your impression of Americans as very relaxed will last very long. Here in New York, no one seems to stay relaxed for very long. Everything seems to be stressful. That is one of the things that I enjoy about traveling aboard. It seems to me that people are more relaxed in Europe and the tropics. Maybe its just because I am vacationing there and thus more relaxed myself that it seems that way.

Not to say anything bad about New York, I love this place as it truly is fantastic. But we are a bunch of stressed out people. Maybe its different in other cities........

Cheers and Happy New Year to all. Hope it brings that best times of our lives.

Hi Torito,

Thank you for sharing it is nice to know, I have been few other times in the US for shopping (lol) and yes americans seems to be more relaxed and friendly than here, it is a fact excepted NYC there is stress, as Urge says. I was only curious to know about the formality at the POE. Now am dealing with getting rid of my flat, furniture, etc . As far as for your AOS you should file as soon as you can for it, and once you get the EAD then you can file for SSN. I think the sooner the better as we don't know how long is going to take. 29 days more to go for me and the kids.

Sorry I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks. We had 10 days off work here and I decided to make the most of it and forget (as much as I could) about the whole visa process and just enjoy Christmas :) Anyway, now I'm back :)

He_She - congratulations on the interview date :)

Pechez & mbdesousa - congratulations on your petitions making their way to the NVC :)

Nanda & MelissaHassan - congratulations on your petitions making their way to the embassy :)

My Honey - The interview date is getting close now, I am so very pleased for you :)

G&A - congratulations on received packet 3 (even with the wrong checklist it's still progress!) :)

KingsleysPrincess - March may seem so far away but you finally know when this journey will end for you both. You're no longer stuck in the waiting limbo that never seems to end ;)

As for me, I did phone the London Embassy on Christmas Eve and they had no interview scheduled for me at that time. The nice person I spoke to said that London can take 1 month to schedule the interview and that countdown starts once they have received everything they need back. Josh will be trying the Department of State helpline later today to see if there is any further update but either way, I will hopefully have an interview date within a weeks time. Then I'll finally know when I can hand in my notice at work, and whether or not I can use the ticket I already have booked to make my final journey to the States.

Happy New Year to everyone :D

C & J,

hang in there!

now that holidays are over things will move fast for all of us, i am sure. since thanksgiving, i felt that lazy, slow, holiday laaaaaaaaaag going on... i can imagine that at the embassy in London and all around the world they were really short staffed and therefore takes them a long time to schedule appointments. i am sure that all clerks took the time off in succession, vacationing. which is good for them and BAD for us!

now i actually can't sleep cuz i want so bad to call nvc first moment they open. i just want my husband to be here NOW!!!!!!

we humans are funny species, aren't we????

ok. i can ramble on. but good luck. i hope you hear about your case this week!

My dear friend C and J. I hope very soon you are given the interview and be united with your spouse as soon as possible! I'm very excited and of course the count down to our "BIG DAY"...:dance: This whole experience is the most extreme and painful process for someone to be seperated the length of time from your family as we have all experienced! I know I will not look back because 2007 has been extremely difficult :crying::crying: and now 2008 is our future together :dance: .... Best of luck to both of you!

Many hugs!!

Hi Urge,

Happy New Year!, I have a question and hope you or anybody who has ran across this issue because I'm very concern and really don't want any problem being this close. On the petition that was sent to the US CONSULATE in Morocco, my wife has my last name, but on her passport they (morocco) it has her maiden name and at the end it said "wife of Abdur-Rashid" which my last name. The question I have will this be a problem during the interview with the way morocco change it on her passport by keeping her maiden name with this statement?

I know different countries have different laws, but this didn't use to be this way they just change this and when we got married she went to renew her passport and the petition was already submitted and I just heard this might be a problem. I wanted to has anyone ran across this situation. I have wrote the consulate but haven't gotten an answer as of yet.

My wife is keeping her maiden name, which really simplified all of this for us. If that is how they reflect change of name through marriage on a Moroccan passport, you should be ok. I would contact the passport office and make sure that this is the case. Just being listed as her husband in her passport might cause some problems if they actually should have indicated a different last name when issuing or updating her passport. I have no experience in this area, hopefully someone with more knowledge will respond.
