Congrats pennyflower99 and hum tum

Hey pkewl, good to see you back. Not to sound like our old friend gogo, but March filers (even those that had some troubles along the way) managed to bring their spouses in November. Because we filed a month later, we have to wait until February. 1 month later in filing makes it 3 months later in bringing our SO's over. How fair is that? Ok, that sounded exactly like gogo.

hi all,

just got an email from embassy. They have sent my wife packet4 and interview date is 12-feb-2008. I have done everything using email. packet3 was received via email, and interview date was also received via email. Not sure about other embassies but mumbai embassy (india) provides very good customer service via email. I encourage others to feel free to use it. All my replies from embassy were very gentle with needed information.

I know atleast one person in this world is really happy today.

Congrats Hum tum... I am so happy for you guys. Good Luck

But talk about US Consulate, Mumbai... geez... look at it... Feb 12th... Thats like 7 to 8 weeks AFTER they have received all of your packets. So, based upon your timeline, I am probably looking at mid to late Feb or early March interview date for my wife''s K3 Visa, if all goes well with packet 3. I guess I will take a Feb/March date, better than NOT to have an interview date

Hi to ALL.... UTR, Ed, My Honey, Divine.. et al. Sorry I have been away from VJ for most of the part.. I ' ve been really bz at work and what not..but just wanted to drop in and say HI and GOOD LUCK to all... Hope things are going well with yall.

Regards.

Ok, Lima got the papers on 11/13/2007, and we never heard anything after that from the embassy. I had my wife call yesterday only to find out they didn't send my wife packet 3, but that her interview was scheduled for 12/12/2007 (9 days later). Needless to say, we are scrambling to try and get all the documents together not to mention that there is no way I am going to be able to make it to Peru for the interview now. Luckily, my wife got a head start on some of the police checks, but there is a police strike in Peru right now so she can't get one of the checks, which is not a big deal because the embassy will take the document later, and strikes in Peru don't last more than a week or so. But, my question is that my wife went to the embassy today and picked up the packet and the interview letter. The packet tells her the immigrant visa fee is $380 and she has to complete two OS-230 applications for immigrant visa. I am 99% sure this is incorrect and they gave her the wrong instructions because the K-3 visa requires a DS-156 and DS-156K and it is only $100 correct?

I-130/CR1 visa

04/23/2007--NOA1 Date from CSC

10/15/2007--NOA2 Date, FINALLY!!

I-129F/K-3 visa

05/23/2007--NOA1 date, currently at NBC (MSC)

10/15/2007--APPROVED!!! (NOA2 Date)

11/09/2007--I-129F petition forwarded to U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru

12/12/2007--interview in Lima, Peru...VISA APPROVED!!!

12/26/2007--POE was Miami, FL and final destination was Charlotte, NC

I-485/AOS and I-765/EAD

3/18/2008--NOA1 Date from MSC

4/08/2008--biometrics appointment

5/07/2008--I-765/EAD approved

5/14/2008--EAD received in the mail (albeit wrong birth year)

9/30/2008--AOS Interview...AOS APPROVED and I-551 stamped in Passport!!!

It's fabulous to see everyone finally speeding along on their journeys :D

I haven't sent off my checklist yet because I wanted to know that Josh was close to having his transcripts in hand. My mum-in-law received hers on Monday (and she sent off for them 3 days before Josh sent off for his) so it's made me bolder and I'm planning to mail off the checklist tomorrow.

Someone in the UK regional forum (K1, though) sent off their checklist on Friday and have an interview set for 24th January, so I have a rough ball-park estimate on how long it will take :) And my medical is booked for my birthday, so less than a month to go for that. I'm now getting very excited

Hi Guys, ...any one can help me? I need some tips regarding the affidavit of support.

How many do we need?

When does a person need 2?

Also how much money do they need to make to be a sponcer?

Also, what if the sponcer is a retired person, can they qualify as a sponcer since they no longer work?

I know i should know about this before...but everyday i have new questions!

I was thinking the same thing but we should of realized it is the USCIS we are talking about and of course it will take them forever to mail out a simple piece of paper. I will let you know if I receive any good news. I will keep you in my prayers and inshallah your case will arrive at NVC soon. (F)
