Just FYI, I've been in contact with the embassy in Buenos Aires for more than a month now, even before we got our NOA2's. I wanted to get Packet 3 beforehand because of our rather remote location, and they sent it to us by email even though we didn't have a case number. Although each embassy varies a bit, for the most part it's the same things that are needed, i.e. vaccinations, police check, evidence of marriage, forms to fill out, etc. You can get most of the information here on VJ....hope that helps!

Hi Guys,

Not to discourage anyone but I am just posting this as a possible caution due to what I once remember reading in South Asia forum. If I recall it correctly then I believe Mumbai does BOTH the packets: packet3 & packet4 versus for some reason I remember that Chennai(and/or may be New Delhi???) DOES NOT do two separate packets. Apparently, they seem to be combined for Chennai. Pls check in South Asian forum with other VJ members for this.

Anyhow, if that indeed is the case(combined packets) then I guess it makes sense that they will just schedule the beneficiary's interview (without packet3 submission) for which I think ApprovalPlease's method will work. I wish Mumbai did that but I dont believe they do the combine packets. Anyhow, just as a caution, I highly recommend you or anyone looking to do this check the embassy webite for more info.

ApprovalPlease: Thanks for your email. Appreciate it. I am sure it will help VJers going thru Chennai embassy.

In my case, using ApprovalPlease's email as a template, once its confirm that the case is in Mumbai, I am going to try to request Mumbai to see if they can email the packet 3 to my wife or at least will allow her to pick it up (and drop it back) in person since mails are sometimes unreliable in some rural areas in India and I think it also saves some mailing time but not sure if they will allow her to pick it up and drop it off. Per NVC, my case is supposed to be in transit as of 11/15 via DHL and electronically.

Hope this helps. Good Luck all and have a great weekend.

John&Celia,

Thanks for your response. I was just asking for Wish to post the email for reference since he did it successfully just a month ago. It could be of great help to others in this thread. This will not work for me, our embassy requires packet 3 be deposited and a fee receipt be bought before they will schedule interviews. Also, they schedule interviews through the American Express office, this is also where forms must be dropped and fee paid. I might be able to get the packet 3 emailed, that I am not sure about, but the appt part is out.

We already have almost all of the items together that will be needed for the interview. Just the supplemental questionnaire for K3 that our embassy requires is all that is waiting. But still, we need the packet 3 just to have it and move on.

Can you post a sample email for this purpose? Did you have to include the case number in the subject line. What else should be included in the email? Thanks.

Just FYI, I've been in contact with the embassy in Buenos Aires for more than a month now, even before we got our NOA2's. The average time is 2 days to get through NVC for the posters in this thread that have gotten forwarded. We were slowed by 1 day because of Veterans' day... I suspect you were too. Give them a call, I bet they already forwarded it on to the embassy!

I guess I belong in this thread I just received my letter from NVC today with case number, It was dated 11-13-07 stating that within a week it will be forwarded to Manila.

If they are right they are not wasting any time.

Got approved for I29f on 10-25-07. Call the NVC every two days.they said they still do not have it. it seems that a lot of other people are having better luck than i am.does anybody have a clue as to what the hold up is? :help: good luck to everybody

John and Celia,

I have been in contact with the embassy for over a year... long story. They sent me all of the documents as well but I think they sent me some that were for an immigrant visa not for a non-immigrant visa (K-3).

Could you please tell me which forms they sent you and do we need to send? I am guessing a new batch of G-325A's , a copy of the original 129F, I-864, copy of police record, passport, copy of I-130?

Also, I downloaded the DS 156 from the internet got the cover sheet with the "barcode" so I am planning on sending four copies of everything to my wife (two to submit prior and two to take with her).

Hi SuperNova,

Yes, the NVC sends a letter to the petitioner's address. But it is nothing important really. It just says that they received an approved I129F from the USCIS and that they will forward on the petition within a week to the consular post, listing the post and address. It lists your MSC# from USCIS and your new NVC/Consular case number (which you already received over the phone, or can get over the phone if you haven't), and says the beneficaiary will receive further instructions . I just got mine in the mail today (dated and post marked the 13th even though the case was input on the 8th (the holiday weekend slowed things up).

Its more important that you follow up with the embassy to see if they got your case already since it was sent out on the 7th.....

Updated the list to include John&Celia and Maria FDA.

Hi Urge !!!

Thank you for the chart, it has been very useful

Urge I have a question.

Does NVC send us a letter ( another NOA ) ?

I am asking this question because we have a unusual situation here .... My hsuband lives here in Brasil with me so We have a UPS store taking care of the mail and re sending them to us. By the way it takes a month or so to arrive here.

We called them and there are no mail from NVC in our box .. I am worried Now !

Thank you !!!

We were approved on the 16th Oct. I've been calling (and sent 2 emails to) the NVC. My emails were acknowledged (automatic response) but no info yet given. I couldn't get an operator and the auto reply kept saying NVC had not recieved our file yet! I called 5 times on the 16th Nov (30 days after our approval) and the auto system STILL said they had nothing from Cal. Patsy called at 9pm last night (16th Nov) and got through to an operator and was told NVC had recieved our file on the 13th and sent it to London on the 15th Nov!!!!!

It seems that Cal USCIS are not sending out files promptly even though they sent out our NOA2.

Timeline for us: 160 days from Reciept at Cal to Approval.

27 days from approval to NVC reciept.

2 days to check and send our file to London Consulate.

I'm going to contact London on Monday 19th to ask for Humanitarian Expedition (speed things up). I've already requested H.E. from London and recieved a reply last week saying they have no files or records for us. Let's hope that they will now have our file and we can make up for the long delays We're praying that London will not take 90 - 100 more days to arrange my interview!

Timeline

Aug/Sept Called 3 times and told "Will get NOA2 any day now"

Sept 21st Touched for the very first time!

Oct 15th Touched! Patsy called to ask about using Humanitarian Expediting. Told we could be approved any day.

Oct 16th Touched after emailing UK Consulate.

London emailed to say they would check with NVC and USCIS

Oct 16th - APPROVED!!! NOA2 on it's way....

Oct 21st Patsy received NOA2

Oct 23rd Patsy coming to UK. (with all our files etc and NOA2) We were advised that I shouldn't risk a visit to the USA whilst K1 pending!!. I could be refused entry and sent back home!

Nov 10th Patsy went home and we'd called NVC a lot but failed to get through to an operator for update.

Nov 13th NVC say they received our file.

Nov 15th NVC say they sent it to London. Now the last leg waiting begins.
