I got married last Dec. 14, 2006 in the Philippines w/ a U.S. borned Mexican guy; I came to U.S. last July 30 under K-3 visa; we mailed the application of 1-485 last Sept. 24, 2007 to USCIS Nebraska Service Center.

During my stay in his house, I don't feel he treated me as a wife, he is irresponsible! He even drive me to his friend's house last night, he said.... he don't want me to stay in his house, this is America, who knows there must be a guy for me waiting at his friend's house, so I should stay there for a couple of night.

Since I am still waiting for the processing of my greencard, can I look for a relocation & work to earn a living to support myself?

It is hard & difficult to be treated like this in a foreign land. Pls. help me

Thanks & Best Regards.

tsk tsk tsk... get yourself an immigration lawyer so that you can stay and get your greencard with no problem, since this is clearly an abuse. You just dont let your wife stay at other people's house and say things like that to you. You may be in a foreign land, but everyone has a right not to be abused that way.

(F) I'm so sorry you are going through this situation. My prayers are with you.

living seperate can cause problem with ur AOS interview, i dont think u can get ur green card without the support of ur petitioner which is ur husband, except u re lucky that u re approve without interview, so i guess u should find out what the problem was and reconcile with him, in my own understanding, a man that travell all the way from US to philippine get married to you, waited for u to come over to US and if am not wrong spend so much money for the trip and the processing of the application and within couple of month started treating u bad. sorry to say this, this is ur own side of the story , something must be wrong. i guess

Wow, jeje, you are so understanding. Why can't you just accept the fact that he may be an abusive man? Just because someone spends money and goes to another country for a bride doesn't mean they can't abuse you. In fact, many man go to other countries to bring a submissive wife and knowing the newly arrived bride will not have any relatives or help, and they can treat them like #######. Maybe you are one of them? That's why you can't seem to understand. She was asking for support and motivation, not your negativity.

i guess u just read the bottom of my post, as u said i accepeted, he could be an abusive man right , can u suggest the best solution to the problem, i pray she can get her green card without interview, does she has any family in US to support her, contacting an attorney, is gonna cost her money and she even need money even only to support her self let alone contacting an attorney, i have not been judgemental, can she get AOS approve on interview without the support of her husband, conatcting philipine embassy as someone said, can that make her remain in US,her husband did not ready to continue the processing of their AOS, cos the way she was explaining is like the guy is getting out of hand, and if the husband withdraw from the application according to uscis she has to forfiet her visa and go back to her country and she cannot change to another visa and she cannot do AOS with and another man, so what is the best solution, i guess she posted here for we vjs member to help, not contact people out there, or attorney that will charge her money to do nuthing. my piece of advice is to figue out what could have been the problem and sort it out, am not in support to seperation,
