outsourcing does not effect construction & service industry jobs inside the US

Who said it did? All I said is when youm are goign to claim you have to go on welfare because there are no low paying jobs, dont place ALL the blame on illegals, place it where it belongs, on our government outsourcing the majority of our low paying jobs.

is it the government or big business? i'm confused there.

There is a difference?

uh, yeah!

I guess so..in the sense that your left hand is different from your right hand.

so while usc's may impose a burden on fellow taxpayers, what right do illegals have to impose that burden?

Neither a USC or an Illegal Alien has a "right" to impose a burden. As I stated before, just because someone is illegal , it does not make them any more of a burden than a legal person of low education. Do you really not understand the concept that no matter who is mucking out toilets in a hotel, US citizen or illegal alien, that person is going to, in all likelyhood, be a burden on the system?

actually, the usc has a right by citizenship whereas the illegal does not. the usa isn't the world's rich uncle.

Ok, fine...a USC has a right to be a burden and an illegal does not have a right to be one. Now back to the point. Since you refuse to acknowledge that USC of low income are an equal burden, then lets solve the problem. Give the illegal low income worker citizenship and he/she will no longer be a burden.....that is your logic not mine.

actually, i didn't disagree with that. reading comprehension problem?

and your logic fell flat, get a shovel and scrape it off the road.

there is middle ground. DO IT THE RIGHT WAY! get a visa! and don't expect the US taxpayers to support the worlds poor.

That's hilarious. The US government and by extension taxpayer keeps plenty of the world in poverty, not the other way around.

Lots of people left my county looking for a better life, and went to America. They worked hard and were welcomed becuase the country needed the labour. These days I can't just get on a boat and show up. So I don't. But I know that if I lived in the poverty that my ancestors grew up in, I would be on a boat to somewhere better, the second I could. It would just be my bad luck that I decide to do so after the land grab is over, and the people who got there first don't want anyone else to come and ruin the party.

And by the way, I wouldn't be ruining the party. Most illegal immigrants pay taxes, but cannot recieve the benefits that they bring becasue of their lack of status.

RIGHT ON!

I LIKE WHEN PEOPLE THINK WITH OTHERS IN MIND

AND NOT JUST THEMSELVES, LIKE SOME OF THESE PEOPLE

"GET A LIFE, GET A JOB, AND STAY THE HELL OUT!! BASTARDS"

MY GREATGRANDPARENTS ALSO CAME FROM IRELAND ON A BOAT.

AS YOU SAY, THIS PARTY IS TOO GOOD TO INVITE ANYONE ELSE!!

NO WAY!!

If you did that illegaly, and got caught, you would more than likely spend mandatory jail time in Mexico and a jail in Mexico is not anything as nice as a US prison.

Stop making sense. The socialists and hardcore leftists just don't understand the OTHER SIDE of every argument.

Yeah, stop making so much sense, these leftits wouldn't understand. Maybe you two could help these crazy, wacky, loud, leftist by telling them what a jail in Mexico is like, or if you even what to start with a prison in the States, that would be fine. Enlighten these folk who just don't understand!!

The sadest part of this whole debate is BOTH sides have valid arguements that can be debated without resorting to intellectual dishonestly. One side dishonestly claims racism, the other side dishonestly blames illegals for economic woes. And BOTH sides dishonestly resort to emotional triggers in lame attempts to garner points.

In the end, does it really matter who is "in the right" here? The simple truth is the US is not going to seal its borders. There will always be illegal aliens and they will always be tolerated on the Federal, State, and Local levels. Our social nets will continue to support USC and IA's because we are compelled by compassion to do so. Sure, we can improve a lot of things on both side of the coins. But lately, all I see is a campaign of political agendas, greed, hatred, and intolerance that offers NOTHING remotely in a way of a solution. Just the kinda thing to sow the seeds of revolution and/or civil war.

They DON't pay taxes because they hav eno social Security number, they drain the tax system and they earn money working illegally anything earned illegally should be forfieted.

More misinformation. You do not need a SS# to pay taxes. Ther IRS has issued almost 7 million Tax ID Numbers that allow workers to pay taxes. SEVEN MILLION. Now when you take the 20 million illegals and subtract out the children and stay home moms, that is almost approaching the same percent of legal taxpayers per household.

As for the rest of you would are pulling numbers out of the air about how much the illegals are costing this country, spare us that misinformation as well. There are no conclusive studies that prove either way that the country and its economy are damage or benefit from the illegal workers. In order to even attempt such a comprehesive study, you would have to determine how many are here and they have no clue...13 million...20 million....no one knows.

Sure, there are areas hit hard, like the emergy rooms. But those are offset that benefits in other areas such as labor and growth. It is just plain ignorance to claim EITHER WAY that the overall effect is positive or negative in regards to the economy.

GOODVIBES, please stop spreading your BADLIES.

or atleast change your nickname!!!!

 If the US economy went in the toilet and Mexico had all the work I would be cramming spanish and packing my family up. I will go where I must to support my family. I would follow the legal path if possible but if my only way for my family to survive was to go through he dessert then I would.

If you did that illegaly, and got caught, you would more than likely spend mandatory jail time in Mexico and a jail in Mexico is not anything as nice as a US prison.

My wife is a citizen of Mexico so immigration isn't too difficult.

Editorial Observer: What Part of 'Illegal' Don't You Understand?

By LAWRENCE DOWNES

America has a big problem with illegal immigration, but a big part of it stems from the word “illegal.” As a code word for racial and ethnic hatred, it is detestable.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/28/opinion/...70&emc=eta1

I'd love to see people here reconsider their use of this derogatory term on this forum. Something to think about.

OK... (thinking....) NO!

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

NY Times..... figures. Trying to turn the word 'illegal' into a racial term is insanity.

great point

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Personally, I detest to a point of words that would piss of anyone who heard them, toward those who come here without any care in the world for laws our own citizens must uphold, as well as giving the finger to the universal language spoken here. To me these aren't immigrants. They're scum. I see them all the time. They aren't out to adapt, just to live the same lifestyle as the other country they were in. Most adapt, so they're not the problem I have.

I also have a few observations:

- A lot of the anti-immigration I see, particularly amongst fellow whites, unfortunately does stem from racism. The Minute Men project was a perfect example of racism. Those old guys standing around sweeping the ground around some 50 feet of border couldn't guard a six pack from a teenager. I can tell when people simply want to stop brown people from coming into the country. I grew up around a southern family with a high penchant for racism and xenophobia.

- Illegal immigrants (I don't let people tell me what sort of language to use) do end up paying surplus into government services (that they can't get back from, giving them a surplus they will ultimately waste), and do indeed throw off the possibility of fiscal responsibility if we ever want necessary things like universal health care, because of the extra dip into, for instance, the education system.

- The border fence is the largest waste of federal money I can think of this century, next to the Iraq War and the Bridge to Nowhere. You seriously think people who want to get here badly enough to even get to the fence will see a fence and not try? If they don't manage to go over it with tools, they'll go through or under it. It was simply a stupid idea from the start and quite amazing it's even has been built as far as it is today.
