Todays project: Design a ceramic tile backsplash for this kitchen, doing something creative over the stove area. I am thinking 8x12 wall tile and a 1x1 mosiac in the center. Wish me luck, the paperwork to order it is due in ....3 hours.

I have a SecondLife halloween party to attend in one hour. hmmmmm SL or backsplash?.....gotta go love me a mummy.

Please share it with us when you are done, Jack, you are so creative with the tile work! I was a member at Curves before and it did get monotonous after awhile. You had the same machines and the same people. I soon decided that going to the community track was best for me. That and flooring it past the Dessert Gallery

I think that I would go with a French blue and a very clean white check. Bigger sized tiles, like 3" by 3" Or I would do a border of white with a solid French blue tiled pattern in the middle. That's just the vibe I'm getting for the space ;) I'll be interested to see what you end up doing!

Grrr... I need another Sunday, this one did not start out correctly and now Im all off kilter. My husband decided to make a non-appearance last night, without calling! I woke up at 4am and he wasnt home. 5am. 6am. 7am. No husband. Paaaaaaannnniiiccccc! Pregnant wife, full of hormones, husband MIA, oh what sorts of horrible things can we dream up? He's been hit by a car, he's been kidnapped, he's lost, someone's pulled a gun on him, he's been arrested, he's dead, he's got the craps and got locked in a convenience store bathroom after midnight! OMG where is he? He's got the car, too. I started calling peeps, hoping someone was feeling merciful enough to let me borrow their car. First person I called was at the ER with a friend of hers, but was kind enough to call the hospitals and jail for me. No dice on any of those fronts, so at least he's not dead, dying, or chillin' in a cell. I call a neighbor and she immediately comes to me rescue. She jumps up, gets dressed, and drives me everywhere I can think of. We find the car at a nearby bar, locked, and no husband. PAAAAAAANNNNIIIIIIICCCC! He's been husband-napped! Some half-crazed lunatic has stolen my husband, Im sure of it! We drive around some more, Im convinced he's laying in a nearby ditch or something. We pass back by the bar on the way home and the car's gone. Gone?! They took him and the car! More panic. Im actually stomping my feet in the floorboard in frustration. We drive back into the apartment complex and there sits my beloved, next to the car, unharmed, having a smoke. Turns out he went to the bar with friends and had too much to drink so he went home with them for a few hours instead of risking driving drunk. Im glad he didnt drive drunk by why not call? His answer, "I thought you were asleep, I didnt want to wake you up. I know the baby makes it hard for you to sleep sometimes and I didnt want to keep you from sleep". AAAARRRGGGGGHHHH! He was appropriately contrite and apologetic for not calling. It took me an hour to calm down and go back to bed. He gave me lots of reassuring hugs and kisses, but I can tell he just does not understand what all the fuss was about. MEN!!!! :ranting:

omg I'd be so po'd! He'd best wise up and mature before that baby comes out! What if the baby was old enough to know that daddy didn't come home last night? Oh he'd be up ######'s creek without a paddle if it were me!

OMG yes I totally understand your panic, just reading it made my face flushed! That would not be ok at all! My husband knows that I can't sleep if he's not home though so that's usually a non-issue (meaning he always comes home at a decent hour). Oh my gosh yes I would be flipping out!!!! There would need to definetely be some gift buying, dinner cooking and massages to make up for that one!

I think it must've rattled him to see me so upset, so maybe it kicked some sense into him. In his mind, he knew where he was and he knew he was safe. But when I dont know where he is, EVERYTHING is wrong. I used to him being at night owl, going out with friends to IHOP, etc, but he almost always tells me before he goes out. And Im fine with it, as long as I know where he is. He can stay out 'till all hours, as long as I know he's safe. I think he got the message, though. I called his friends and went to every place I could think of to find him, so now he's having to answer to everyone why his wife was out at the crack of dawn bawling her eyes out looking for him.

#1 you are way nicer than me coz i get mad if my husband is out past midnight. To me, if u are a parental figure in a household, you must lead by example and be home at a decent hour.

#2 Explain to him what taxi is and that it is ok to call one to bring him home if he's drunk off his rocker and he better use it next time

#3 I would absolutely lose my mind if my husband stayed out every night. I couldn't take that!

Kudos to you for not absolutely killing him. I soooooooooo would have been livid!!!

I'm glad everyone is ok and that he is safe.

Oh I just about did. As soon as my neighbor was driving us back into the apartment complex and I saw Ahmed I exclaimed "Oh thank God's he's okay! Im gonna rip his head off!"

Unfortunately, we no longer have the good paddle with the holes in it, and my good frying pan was in the wash. I had to resort to the broom.

I think he's learned his lesson. He's checking up on me a great deal this evening, just to make sure Im okay. And rightfully so, I was an absolute basket case this morning! :girlwerewolf2xn:

When I am a complete basket case I find it helpful to play some soothing music I really love while I set about on some task. Music often influences my mood and helps me to fill my soul again with goodness allowing the craziness to settle and process.

Maybe it would help to pop your favorite CD in the stereo right now while you do some task to keep your hands busy.

Take care my dear Yassmine. (F)

I do this alot at work to keep from throttling the clucking chickens . And you're right, it does work well. Im okay now that I know he's safe. Im watching some old black and white movies (those are always comforting to me) and putting together Halloween goody bags, so Im keeping mind and hands occupied.

The last time I went nuts like this was when I was waiting for him to arrive here. His first flight, all alone, my baby could have gotten lost! I didnt hear from him for 24 hours (which wasnt his fault, just time constraints) and I was going bananas. One of the other girls said she had the same thing happen with her husband on his first flight here. She was convinced he was going to miss his flight, get stuck in the terminal forever, wind up eating french fries out of the airport dumpsters and eventually die there and be buried in one of the planters. The female mind comes up with all kinds of horrors when we're not in the know. Especially the hormonal female mind

I'm really really bad but I would even go so far as to go out at night and not come home until probably noon the next day. Of course I'd stay at a 5 star hotel room and charge it to his credit card and order up some very expensive food via room service. THAT would probably give him pause before doing this again.

LOL  I dont even have the energy for revenge. But I definitely owe him one! Ill be reminding him of this stunt in the future. He's puttin on the puppy dog today. Keeping close, being extra attentive, extra cuddly, etc. I think he feels bad for making me so upset, especially so with the pregnancy.

I made dinner for him last night, which he didnt even touch. The lovely garlic bread which I toasted with the paper still on and a full pan of lasagna. I told him he's going to eat every last bit of that lasagna tonight, or Im going to beat him with the pan .
