My I-129 was approved on Sept. 27, 2007 by the National Visa Center. I received a Notice of Action with the approval date of Sept. 27th. In the letter it states that my file will be transferred to the Embassy in Caracas within 7 days. I have e-mailed the Embassy and they have not received it yet. I e-mailed NVC and was told that they processed the visa petition and sent it to the Embassy on Sept. 26, 2007. What do I do now? My file appears to be lost somewhere between NVC and the Embassy :(

Any advice would be wonderful!

The same situation happened to me but with the Ghana Embassy.

Call the NVC (603-334-0700) and let them know as well as forward them the e-mail from the embassy stating that they have not received your information. This is what the NVC asked me to do in my situation. Continuously e-mail and call the embassy. When e-mailing the embassy, make sure you cc the NVC. That may or may not add to the pressure of them getting their act together. As additional support I was told to contact my local senator/governor's office and ask them to contact the embassy on my behalf.

I was also told that a lot of these embassies are so back-logged that they tend to lie about not receiving files. You need to be forceful but respectful and polite. Chances are they will send you a letter but it will be a month or more late. You have to keep on top of them.

I had the exact situation happen to me and my letter from the embassy arrived one month late.

Good luck!
