I-129f Proof of Having Met. Is this enough?

Greetings!!

My fiancée is from Trinidad and Tobago. We met for the first time in Canada in January. We stayed at her relatives' house, and since we weren't planning ahead (for the Visa), I paid for everything with cash and we didn't keep receipts for movies, landmark visits, etc. Thanks to a camera breaking on my trip home, we also only have one picture, and it's horrible. It shows us together in front of Lake Ontario, but her face is cut off at her chin, and she is wearing dark glasses!

I've filed an I-129f some time ago, and this is the evidence I was able to provide:

- passports and itineraries for both trips (hers and mine) to/from Canada

- passport stamps

- Rental car receipt

- Printout of an email receipt for Medieval Times in Toronto

- The bad picture mentioned above

- A signed statement from a Canadian friend stating that she spent time with us while we were together, and that our relationship seems valid to her

Do you suppose this is sufficient for proof of having met? (I'm thinking, "seriously, why ELSE would anyone go to Canada in January?" but USCIS might not think the same way)

If an RFE is issued, I should have plenty more evidence, since she spent the summer here on a B-2.

I have plenty of evidence of ongoing relationship, and am not worried about the K-1 interview. In fact, I plan on attending the interview with her. From what I hear, the interview is the harder part of the process (is that true?).

Any input or opinions are appreciated. Sick of waiting, and curious how worried I should be.

Thank you!!

Hey Jesse!

Welcome to VJ

Since you really don't have a choice because you have already filed, let's just hope what you have sent in is enough.

If not, I'm sure you'll figure it out. As you said, you have more proof so just send that in.

Maybe squeeze in some more trips between now and the interview so she can take more photo's to the interview.

Best of luck!!!

If your passport stamps indicate you were both in the same city in Canada at the same time, that's probably enough primary evidence. Since it's a third country, additional evidence of only one of you being there (rental car receipt etc.) won't add much but I think you've got it covered anyway.

Hi, Laura. Stumbled across this site a couple times looking for random information. Looks like this site performs a great service!! And I also love seeing stories from other people that have gone through (or are going through) the same thing we are.

I'm seriously flying to Trinidad to attend her interview with her, if they will allow it. There's no better proof for the interview than that, I suppose!! :-D

Your reply is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Thanks a bunch for the reply, pushbrk. Could you clarify what you mean by "primary evidence"?

I guess. Primary evidence actually proves you were someplace. Things like receipts for a concert don't. They prove somebody was there but don't prove you were. I guess you could say primary evidence stands alone. Secondary evidence doesn't.
