Once in a while I would get sad. But only when I was the only single person out with other couples at an event and would think "Gee, I wish I had someone special to share this with." Other than that, I'd just have fun because I viewed each person in the couple as a friend, and not the two of them combined as one single friend. (did I just lose people? )

nope, as longs as couples weren't sitting there making out and groping each other, I don't remember feeling like much of a third, fifth, seventh wheel. I think I was more lonely at home, not having someone to cuddle up with.

I had fun at home alone. Most of the time. I always knew that the place would stay the way I'd left it.... I could wear (or not wear) what I wanted..... sing and dance to my heart's content.... talk to myself or to the radio or the tv..... eat what I wanted whenever and wherever I wanted.... Hmm. Not sure why I got married now.

I think this topic is never getting "old".

Before I came here, it was extremely painful to go to family gatherings with basically only couples and families. Specially when they made comments like "When was the last time you talked to your boyfriend?" Rub it in!!!

On a couple occasions he managed to call me at my parents house, that was nice but in general, I hated to go to family gatherings, felt sooo left out at times.
