Hi everybody,

We do not have wedding rings because we started this whole AOS process so we can start our lives here...so after i get all my paperwork done we are planning to do a huge wedding with everything..rings included. My question is, based on what I just mentioned, is it going to be a problem to go to the interview without marriage rings?

My life insurance is in her name, we have bank accounts, we shared medical benefits, we are going to get mobile phones, but we are planning to have the rings when we have the chance to do it and we want to do it the best that we can. I gave her an engagement ring and we are married but we do not have the rings yet. The other issue is that we do not have pictures of our wedding because it was not really planned to be that day but it happened. But we have pictures since we met, in 3 countries, in many places, and we are REALLY having a life together.

So anyway, I really do not want to be in trouble because of that, and besides I got a great job and we also bought car/house and I really can't be denied just because of a "detail".

Any tips/advice are welcome! We will have our interview on december 13.

Thanks!

/PepeG.

Personally I think you guys will be OK. You have a lot of evidence and if asked about the rings, you can just explain the truth, I'm sure they will understand. Same with the photos, I have heard of many people who had no photos of the marriage in the county clerk's office. They had no problem.

every case is different. i did not have a wedding party with the cake when i got married to usa citizen. nor we had rings. i also wore a black dress.

i think that officer will be more concerned about co mingling of finances, your rapport, photos, other evidence, than the formal wedding pic.

it's not that hard. on all interviews, even for the citizenship, they grilled us about the money, to be honest with you.

Well, they can deny you for anything they like, so even the smallest "detail" to you might be something that matters to them. You mentioned that you have bank accounts, are they in both of your names? Don't go crazy with pictures, I wasn't asked for one. Just take what you have. It doesn't have to be from the wedding.

Remember, it's not what YOU think about your lives that matters, it's what the interviewer thinks. Just because you think you are really having a life doesn't meant that the interviewer will.
