Rainy day in NY and I escaped my STUDIO APT. to spend some alone time at work - I know it sounds crazy but I love my office and today I hate my apt.

So Jamal's friend just decided to come to NY from Germany and he will be staying with us in our studio apt. who knows for how long - I hate people!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like I am talking to a wall...

I offered to pay for the hotel - just leave me alone - I guess I am not social but how do you expect me to get some sleep if we are all stuck in one room and the want to talk all night - I need a life.

Sorry for the rant....

Hope that everyone will have a good weeked

D.

You are right..if they have the money to vacation, why can't they afford a hotel? You are being selfish. It is natural that you would feel uncomfortable sleeping in the same room with another man. I'm surprised that is ok with Jamal. At least you have an office to go to for escape, but how sad that you have to be at work to feel ok! :crying:

Does anyone know how to get permanent marker out of something white? I accidently washed something with a marker in the pocket and now it has a few black spots on it. I'm going to try bleach but I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows of something else that works miracles?

I know that if it would be a fresh stain then you could get it out with a hairspray and a papertowel but for a set in stain I am clueless...

Good luck Sarah...

Thanks Maggie,

I am glad that you can see my point. What really pissed me off was that the first night Jamal mentioned that he would go into a hotel and ask me to look for something - then when I came back with prices - the cheapest being $110 he was like no we can't ask him to spend that kind of money - I told him I will pay for his freaking hotel I just want my privacy back - but it seems to me that all that Jamal cares about is this dude and how he will feel - that just really is too much...

I love my job and my office so I am grateful for having at least this outlet -

Thank you for listening...

D.

My mind is mush so I forget what everyone's said specifically.

It's cloudy and drizzly outside so I cleaned up the house, lit some yankee candles and we're watching scarey shows on Disney.

I ordered a scarf from ebay and I got it and it's great and all that but I also got someone else's order. What a pain. Now I'll have to return it to the post office and pay someone else's postage. It's not the money so much but having to go to the post office since they're only open till 5 which means I have to book it there from work before picking up my 5th grader. I'd even offer to keep them and pay for them but they're not my style at all since they're shaylas and I'm into the more turkish scarves.

Anybody ever watch Simply Delicioso on the food channel? I always want to cook what she cooks after since she makes it look so fun!!!

Dorothy - My husband is the same way. I think it's a cultural hospitality sort of thing. Frustrating nonetheless - even for me when we have 2 bedrooms!!

My husband is the same way. Is not happy with the thought of a visitor getting a hotel. He insisted that jackie stay at our home even after she got here. We visited one of his friends once and , get this, his friend went to stay with another person and told us we had to stay in his apartment while we visited coz he would not allowus to get a hotel. I was in awe. He invites us, then won't let us get a hotel.... I felt like I was kicking him out of his own house even though it is what he wanted to do..... Gotta love'em

I love ya like a sis Amal, but when it is jammie time,I want a nice hotel bed, hot shower and tv remote all to myself. That is my idea of a vacation. Dayum, we talked so much, if I would have slept over, we would have gotten no sleep.

East coast trip, is looking like a Days Inn ;)

Allousa- Kids. I like them when their not my own.

Ayesha- I am curious where is that avator pix of? It's lovely.

Jenn- Good luck on that exam! With that much studying I'm sure you'll do well just don't get overly caffinated.

Sarah- I hope the fires end soon too. if I had the answer for your perment marker question I'd be a millionare.

Sparrow- funny post  I wonder if the co-workers hijacked the food aspect of the wedding because they know what they want to eat. lol

Jackie- I love the pix posts you've put up lately and I hope we get to see more. The circus sounds fun!

Lal- Biometric & EAD sounds like a distant memory from my hayday's working in the hosptial. Then I realized what you were talking about. lol, Good Luck with that!

Charles- So you're the tech savy one in the family unit. Here's a clip of Bob for ya! http://www.illwillpress.com/tech.html *advisory language* They have a whole slew of Bob clips.

Lost in NY- Can't offer advice with the situation but I know what you mean about loving the office. My former sister in law is in Brooklyn now and I keep meaning to take her up on her offer of visiting there for a week or two.

Maggie- Bob works for United Health care!

Amal- Hi honey!

Doodlebug- Sorry I don't know the show. Congrats on the new scarf. About Ebay I got this weird msg through them recentaly from someone saying they're trying to deposit money into my account and they've emailed me three times for the purchase of the item. I have never posted something on ebay for sale before. So??? Maybe they're having glitches.

MrsAmera- hi!

About me today... I'm at the computer lab supposed to be working on those investigative report. yeah. <_< We had some costumes out last night. Took me by surprise frankly. I wasn't expecting them to start celebrations this weekend.

Cute punkin olivia!!! I'm making gingerbreads tonight 'cus they sound yummy - I had this great idea for gingerbread petit fours with cheesecake BUT my car battery is dead. I have two assignments that I need to finish this weekend. How fun... hunny will be home in 7 minutes and I'm so happy! I hate that he has to work all weekend and me all week - we see each other for like 2-3 hrs everynight and go to bed, get up and go to work makes me sad! I think we're going to look into a Morocco trip during Eid, I haven't been back since he came and his sister and brother (who I haven't met) will be visiting from Italy during that time too.

One last check in from the office. I am truly having a blast here. I-tunes blasting my favorite music, catching up on some work stuff - entering my overtime and just enjoying the solitude. I always thought that I was my worst enemy but lately I am enjoying my own company - I guess I am selfish to that extend.

Thank you all for your words of understanding - I agree with you about the culture of hospitality and I definitely understand and can tolerate but not in a studio apt. Let's see if we will move anytime soon.

Amera - I am actually looking into Astoria - I guess it is to be seen.

I spoke with my husband a little while ago and it seemed like his friend will spend the rest of his days in NY with Jamal's coworker - I guess things do work out at some point - usually after I work myself about the issue...lol

Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend.

D.
