For those of you asking me tp post the details of my husbands interview...it's long, and only 6 weeks later, but here it is smile.gif

For anyone going to this embassy for this type of visa, here are some important things to note when you have your own interview. My husbands interview was scheduled for 7 am and we arrived at 6:15 am just to make sure we didn't get caught in any of that Lagos holdup. That wasn't necessary because the first people that get to stand in line for appointments are people who are doing drop box only. Meaning they don't have an interview, they are just dropping their passports and getting fingerprinted. After they are in line, then the regular interviewees are allowed to queue. Once inside the embassy, people waiting to be interviewed wait until 10 am or so, when the drop box people are finished being processed before any actual interviews take place (this explains why people are always waiting hours for the interview at this embassy). From what my husband said, and what I could observe with my own eyes, it doesn't seem to matter what position you have in the line. They already have an order in which they are going to interview set up before you come. I noticed that people who were behind my husband in line where coming out before him. When my husband finally made it to the window around 1:30 pm (6 1/2 hours later) the CO spent about 7 minutes with him. She asked him these questions

1. Where we met

2. Was it a dating site?

3. What's the name of the site

4. How many times had I visited?

5. Pictures of us before we were married, at the wedding, and my visit in general.

6. Did we have a reception?

7. Emails from him to me, and from me to him.

I arranged all of our evidence in a nice 3 ring binder for him to take with him. Everything organized, labeled and sectioned off. I found out that it was pointless to do. When my husband came out of the embassy I saw the binder, and all of its contents were jumbled, disorganized, and just in general disarray. My husband told me that the binder did not fit underneath the window for the CO to view herself, so he had to pull everything that she asked to see (only pictures and emails) out of the binder and show her one by one against the window. He did slide the emails under the slot, and she looked at 2. I mistakenly printed only email from him to me, and not really any that I wrote to him. Since he didn't have his medical exam completed, the CO told him to return on any Friday at 7am with the medical exam results, and emails that I had written to him. The next week we went back with the requested information and went through the same waiting ordeal as the week before. Drop box people first...and you get the drift. We didn't arrive early this time because we knew the drill. 6 1/2 hours later he came out and told me he would pick up his visa on Tuesday at 2pm. The next week we were there at 2pm promptly. Everyone waiting at that time were waiting to pickup visas. Another waiting game though. My husband was the last to be called, and I waited outside for 2 1/2 hours. Praise God though!

My Timeline

My Photos

I will try and post this message in Lagos Embassy review section for easy access.

What follows is a summary of the information received by me from my fiancée who actually eyeballed the so-called packets P3 and P4 and info below is based on my phone conversation with her regarding said packets.

Firstly there is no “packet” as such. There are sheets of paper and forms stapled together. There is no returning of P3 and collecting of P4 as may obtain in other embassies. You receive P3 and P4 together and are expected to

“return” P3 on the day of your interview.

________________________________________________________________________________

_________

P4 is actually the first page of the “packet” and contains, in the main, your interview date

P3 consists of the following:

•Instructions on how to fill DS156 and DS156K forms

•Page that mentions all the documents you would need (where applicable)- documents include valid passport, passport pictures (including specifications), medical records, police certificate, court records (where applicable)

•DS156 form (1 page front and back)

•DS156K form

•Letter to AIG requesting for Police Report

•Medical forms (needed for the visit to Kamorass Clinic, including instructions about medical report)

•Letter informing you of all other documents needed for the interview:

-Pictures of couple and other relevant pictures

-Other evidence of relationship; phone bills; certified copy of passport of petitioner; letters, e-mails, etc etc..

-Page on proof that beneficiary would not be a public charge (that is Evidence of financial support)

- Form 1-134 (affidavit of support)

________________________________________________________________________________

________

Info above represents a summary of the info contained in the P3 and P4. The info above is not 100% complete as my fiancée was not about to read out every letter in the packets but I think you can get the general picture and work from here. The info above however contains the main items found in the packets. Please make sure you review other sources to be absolutely sure you have all the info you may require.

Note: Evidence of financial support would include the form I-134 above and other documents such as letter from employer, bank statements (6-12months), Tax returns (some say last year`s tax return, I personally included for the past 3years with W2s), Pay stubs (past 6-12months…..include at your discretion), Bank letter (stating your annual deposits, when you opened the account and standing of account). Please revisit the instructions on I-134 and review which evidence of financial support you may want to include with the form I-134 (see link below)

Hello everyone,

I am a May filer for the K-3 and my husband is from Nigeria. My petition has not been approved yet, but I called today and found that it is indeed on an adjudicator's desk ready for processing today. I would like to join this group if it is okay with everyone here.

Thanks,

Deb

I am new to this and I have just filed. I have a couple of questions. How many of you were in NIgeria for the interview ? Did you bring your significant other back with you right afterwards ? How many visits to Nigeria did you make ? I have only gone once , this past Septmeber and want to know what seems to be the best combination. With the long long wait I have ahead of me I want to do whatever I can to make it go smoothly and not break my budget to badly.

For all the questions that you asked some will answer yes and others will answer no. There are many who have only been to their SOs country once and they got the visa with no problems. The key is making sure that the evidence you submit leaves no doubt that you have a bona fide relationship. The best thing you can do right now is make sure you are gathering plenty of proof of your relationship; make sure that whatever method of communication you choose has options for you to keep records so that you can submit them for the interview.

Good luck!!

Thanks Osakeme for the welcome. I received an RFE on Dec. 12 and sent it back already. They have resumed working our petition as of Jan. 7. I am kind of worried though because the I-130 was touched on Jan. 7 and Jan. 8, but not since then, and they haven't touched my I-129F since the beginning of December. If they have resumed working on our petition (which happens to be way out of their processing times), why did they stop working on it as of yesterday???? I am worried that they have moved on to other people's petitions and decided to push mine to the side for now. I was under the impression that once they receive the RFE that there would be a fairly quick approval after that. Has anyone else had experience with RFEs and if so, how long did it take from the time they said they resumed your case to your approval???

Thanks for the help,

Deb
