Helloooo,

I know this has been covered before, but I don't know if I have ever seen a definative answer?

So someone goes for an interview in 2007, last tax return shown on the affidavit of support is 2005. I assume one should take a copy of the now more current 2006 tax return to the interview? Maybe?

Also, is it necessary to update the affidavit of support, print it all out again etc (seems it shouldn't be).

I mean I know it is a good idea - and my Husband will take the 2006 return if we have even done it by then - I guess the question is (after much rambling) is it required and has anyone ever actually been asked for it?

I did ask this very question of the NVC and they told me that at the minimum have the latest tax extract. They weren't too sure about the updated I-864 but they told me that if you could have one at the ready then that might not be a bad thing but if there is an issue at MTL you can amend in person.

I took an updated I-864 due to the fact that our household size increased with the birth of our son. I also took my husbands 2006 tax return (copy) and also updated it in the I-864. They just returned my onld I-864 and took the updated one and tax return. I think I had phoned MTL (gosh, forgetting all this already) and they advised me to bring an updated one and the husbands most recent tax return.
