4 months still no packet #4

it's been 4 months and my wife still hasn't received her packet #4 yet. What should I do? She has a lawyer and the lawyer said I'm supposed to get a letter first asking for a Visa payment to process the application before she gets her packet #4 mailed to her. I've gotten nothing from immigration. Am I really supposed to get a letter for a payment first? I never heard about that.

What do you guys think I should do? I'm really worried now. She turned in her packet #3 in June and now it's almost November.

You shouldn't have to pay anything...it kindof sounds to me that her lawyer is an idiot. She will get packet four in her mail, then it's up to her to fullfill the requirements of whats enclosed within. There is a hundred dollar interview fee that she'll have to pay at CitiBank in Saigon and, I think, another 75 bucks for her medical and inaculations, but that's all the fees there are. Like Thanh said, call the consulate. Make sure you call, 'cause they don't respect the Vietnamese national at all. Good luck, man. Also, be there for her interview, fly there to insure that they treat her with the respect she deserves.
