Here is my Timeline:

My interview went reasonably well, the IO had to make further investigations, so I didn't have an answer at the interview, she said it would take 2-4 weeks to respond, we had our interview Thursday 18th Oct, and was infact approved via email Monday 22nd Oct, She was very professional, the interview wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be.

Timeline in my signature, AOS interview experience on Oct. 24:

We left our home at 1:50, and walked over to Government Center. We arrived at the JFK Federal Building at around 2:10. We checked in, and the man at the front desk asked if we brought a lawyer. We said no. He took our appointment notice, and told us to take a seat.

At 2:30, a young woman came out and called our last name. She brought us through the locked door. There are tons of offices back there! We followed her to her cubicle, where there were two seats just outside, one seat next to her desk, and her office chair. She gave us our oath, we swore to tell the truth, yadda yadda yadda. She told my husband to sit in the seat next to her desk, and I sat on one of the chairs at the edge of the cubicle.

She started going through our file, asked for my husband's passport, EAD card, I-94, etc. Then she asked if we had our original marriage certificate. I swear, I could not find that thing in my perfectly organized file! I found a copy and handed it to her, then continued looking in my (did I say perfectly organized?) file. I found the original just as she found the original that we had sent with our packet.

She asked how we met, when we got married. She asked if we had a big or small wedding, if his family attended (they did). Also asked if we went on a honeymoon (we didn't). She asked why not, we told her that we wanted to go someplace outside the country and he couldn't travel.

She asked if I had my original divorce decrees, and I gave them to her. She asked me if both of my ex-husbands were Americans (they were). She asked my husband his date of birth, and if he had a job (he got one last week, right after he got his EAD), and where he worked.

We talked a little bit about how much we traveled back and forth to see each other during the past two years. She then asked if we had any proof. We showed her 4 photo albums full of stuff - she said she liked our pictures, she flipped through one or two of the albums, just glancing at photos. We gave her our lease with both names, bank statements with both names on the account, he's on my work medical plan, plus on my life insurance.

She flipped through the file, removed some things, put other things in, and asked the questions on the checklist: communist, prostitute, genocide, etc.

Then, she said, "You're approved today!" She took his EAD card, but gave him a copy of it in case he still needs it for work.

We walked out the front door of the building at 2:55 p.m.

Timeline

The interview went pretty good. First she swore us in, then she asked for our ID, passports, and birth certifercates. Then she asked for proof of any joint assests we had together, which we only had 3 items, 2 bank accounts and proof that he had been added to my insurance package thru my job. Then she asked to see any pictures that we had. We showed her some of the wedding photos, she asked who was there, and I told her and there was a group photo us all of us. She then asked Neil if any of his family was there. He told her no and that we were planning on renewing our vows in JA next year on our anniversary and that his family and which ever family members of mine that were going would be there.

Then she asked me why I hadn't changed my last name... And we told her that I wanted to wait until we renewed our vows on our anniversary, which she was ok with ( I was kind of worried that it was going to be a problem). She asked for my check stubs and income tax returns then she asked me were I worked, how long I'd been there and what my position was. Then she asked me if I had brought the phone bills from when he lived in JA?? I told her I didn't have bring them because it wasn't listed in the form of things to bring. Then she wanted to know how and where we met, and how many times I been there to visit him. She looked thru my passport to verify what I'd said. She then asked if we had been on any short trips or a honeymoon. Which we told her no because we were saving that money for the trip and wedding in JA which would be in June. Then she asked if I had any kids, how many and if they lived in they house. She really didn't ask Neil very many questions, it was like I was the only one being interviewed. The only questions she asked him was his name, address, phone number and birthdate, and of he was working yet. Then asked me if went to the K-1 interview and if we came back to the states together. She then started checking things off in our file and said everything looked good and that he would receive his green card in the mail in 2 weeks. She also told us we would need to file to lift conditions 90 days before his green card expires. When you go, take everything you have, including the things from your K-1 interview. Just in case they ask for it they may not, but it's better to have it just in case.

Sorry Lal, the forum you suggested is almost belongs to "K Visa" .I don't belong to them that's why I made my own thread so that it can be easier for me to up-adate also and to others who don't belong to K VISA. The thread I made is for everybody base on AOS marriage visa no matter category is. Thankyou.

Hi to all!!! It's been a long time to re open this topic and since I started this topic I have to update my accomplishments on AOS with sharing timeline update and interview experienced.

TIMELINES: JULY FILER

USC SPOUSE

JULY 19-2007-I-130/485 RD

JULY 30-2007-NOA

AUG 28-2007-RFE SENT

SEP 14-2007-LUD RESUMED CASE

SEP 20-2007-BIOMETRICS CODE3

OCT 01-2007-SENT EAD

OCT 02-2007-RECEIVED INTERVIEW LETTER

OCT 05-2007-EAD NOA

NOV15-2007-AOS INTERVIEW(APPROVED)

NOV15-2007-AOS LUD AOS CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED

NOV15-2007-APPLIED SSN

If I will count the days from my I-485 NOA date, the total of days waiting is 108 days up to approval date.

From the RFE LUD date of 9/14 it is 62 days up to approval date

My interview lasted for only 5 minutes because we answered all the questions right and we submitted all the right documents for I-485/I-130 and also for having our son that will proved that we have a bona fide marriage :)He just asked biographic informations from AOS paper work ,asked for the BC of our son and took a glanced at our wedding photos. And he told us that he will approved our case. I asked him about my pending EAD but he told me that this I-551 will allow you travel/work starting today so youdon't have to bother About EAD/AP . Oh lucky  I did not apply those concurrently with I-485 but I only applied for EAD after taking my code 3 biometrics So, I still have a pending EAD and code 2 biometric appointment but, the DO that hold my case interview is still issuing I-551 stamped while others dont. So I think there is no need for me to wait for the EAD card. Because I am just lucky to have a D.O like this. It is better to apply AP/EAD concurrently with AOS application because it can help you to work and travel while on pending AOS .There are people also who is trapped by FBI name check and that was the most scaring thing ! But luckily too that I have my name check cleared upon the date of my Biometrics. The officer told us that the card will be deliverd soon in the mail so he double check our address and telephone numbers. And lastly he gave us a copy of guidelines for removal of conditions. And that was it! Before we lived the room we gave him a BIG SMILE and Thanked him for a very successful interview.

I am thanking all the VJ members who are with me during my visa journey and for the rest of AOS filers GOODLUCK and just have faith to yourself and GOD.

Miles
