I want to give my husband something super special for Diwali/Christmas/our 6 month anniversary but don't know what to give - I ask but he always says don't give me anything...His family is from a village background so very much not into 'stuff'... still I am thinking of giving him maybe a digital camera since he had so much fun with mine the last time I was with him - he says his dream would be to become a photojournalist :) Since he doesn't have a computer at home would it be difficult for him to use? He can always take the memory stick to a camera shop and have the photos transferred to CD like we did with our wedding photos. The adaptor is dual voltage and he would just have to get a dual pin plug adaptor like I got for mine. He loves music and dancing so I was thinking of an MP3 player pre-loaded with some of our favorite songs, but again no computer, so maybe a CD player with travel speakers(so family can also enjoy) and a custom mix CD by me?

Any other ideas? What have you given your SOs?

It seems like you have answered your own question! It sounds like he would enjoy the digital camera. I haven't even thought about what I will get my husband for Christmas.

Yes, I think you're right - would just like to personalize it somehow - I think he will love it though, and his whole family can enjoy it - you should have seen his sisters posing like Bollywood divas when my camera came out!!

Diwali is Nov. 10th so I gotta get crackin'...

Dont forget homemade goodies! I always sent Ahmed homemade candies, knitted stuff, etc. He still wears his t-shirt that says "Gabrielle (L) 's Ahmed" when he goes to the doctor with me, so they know whose husband he is. :)

That is so cute - I should make a T-shirt for him that says 'Pattu Raja' or something like that... I saw someone on eBay that was selling custom T-shirts that say

X's Wife' and 'X's Husband' but I think it would be fun to make my own. I haven't knitted in so long I think I've forgotten how - I used to sew up a storm but no room for a sewing machine in this apt.... :(

I have one of those Knifty Knitters that makes it super easy, even if you're a total dunce with needles (like me). And I made his shirt with iron-ons. I just bought a plain black t-shirt and some iron on letters, it was done in a jiff and he loves it :)
