Some of you may know this already, but for those of you that don't I thought I would share this with you since my fiance and I love it so much.

One of the main ways I communicate with my fiance is talking online at night via webcam and microphone as I'm sure many of you do as well.

For a long time we used Yahoo messagner for the webcam, and Skype for voice. The combo worked well together, but now there is a much better option!!!

If you have Skype, then you can go to www.vskype.com and download the video plug-in that works with Skype. This works great! Its so much faster, clearer, and no delays!!!!!!!! They also have some fun effects to play with called eye candy: cutouts, mirror images. I highly recommend this for anyone trying to talk over the net

I feel really old. When DH and I started talking, webcams weren't common. He had to go to Cairo to find a net cafe with webcams, and he only was able to find one after we had been talking for a year.

Now he uses yahoo and Skype to stay in touch with friends and family back home. His mom on the computer is soooooooo cute. His best friend takes her to the net cafe once a week and sets her up to talk for a few hours.

What did people ever do before the internet?

I absolutely love the video skype. It has good quality, real time video. I can see Hachemi's mouth moving as I hear his words with no delay. You can see the eyes blink and the facial expressions, which you could'nt do with yahoo. It also keeps a history of the date, time, and length of time you talked. I printed off pages and pages of the skype call list for our proof of ongoing relationship. And the best thing, it's FREEEEE!!!

Meriem..I have a question, When I tried to print out my Skype call records I could not find an option to print. I can do a print screen, but that is not really that great of an option. Do you use the free skype or do you actually pay for calls?

I use the free skype and when I went to print out the pages of records, I got an error that said it was for paying customers only.

This is how you do it. Open up the skype and maximize it so it covers the whole screen. Press the "print screen button". Open up your Microsoft word. Then press "ctrl" key then the "v" key. It will transfer the screen print to word then you can print it. Let me know if you need more help.

I wish Maj's friends were more internet savvy, then he could talk to them on skype and save us a bunch of money :P

Oh well, it would probably crash my poor computer anyway. I try to avoid installing anything new.

Ok I know I'm a loser but how do you set it up? I got it working on my end but Yousuf is having some issues. When I set mine up all I had to do was keep testing it until my firewall recognized it and allowed it but his doesn't work that way so what does he do? It says something about "behind a proxy" and asks for the "host"? :help:
