I actually have been waiting to give them a ring but more like a chastity ring. Has anyone heard of those? I guess there's a little thing that you say to them before giving it to them and basically it's about how important abstinence is, etc. The goal is that if they're in a sticky situation they'll hopfeully be reminded of the promise of chastity by looking at the ring and get the heck out of dodge while the gettin' is good!!

Yes. It was called a promise ring when I was growing up. It was often given to a young lady by her parents as a 'just because' present when they felt she was old enough for 'big girl' jewelry. It was a very sweet gesture and I knew several girls who treasured theirs for eons.

Through all the red sox/congressman stuff I forgot...my 11 yr old is at her first "social" right now! It's from 2:30pm to 5pm. I pick her up at 5 and I'm *dying* to hear how it went, though I'm sure I"ll get one word answers like:

me: what happened?

her: "nothing"

me: did you have fun?

her: sure

me: did you dance?

her: yeah.

She looked real cute when she left the house though!

I thought daughters will tell you everything and sons were the ones who answered yes no, sure.

Everything my parents used to ask me or tell me was just a huge inconvenience to me when I was younger. I wanted out of any conversation as fast as possible. When my Dad used to work from home and he was home allllllll the time it did not work for me- all I wanted to do when I got home from school was watch TV instead of having my Dad ask me what I learned. Oh and the answer to that question was always "nothing".

Aww, such memories...junior high dances and sleepovers.

They do, but not for 6th graders. The social is for the 5th and 6th graders, though my 5th grader declined because she'd much rather go skateboarding with her friends. The 7th and 8th graders have a dance tonight from 6:30pm to 9pm.

Jackie- My Mom goes to Curves in Boise and sometimes takes me. I like that it's an all women club.

Ahhh all brain power lost now for the rest of what I was going to say... hmm... ok...

I'm working on creating a new poll for VJ but won't post it until Monday when everyone is back and checked in. I'm really interested in the results of this one cuz it's going to be good.

As for me I see the counselor today after two weeks of waiting. I had a little stomach bug going on. I have to edit my Music Video this weekend and write two 10 page investigative reports for Political Science classes and I've lost all steam for school because of a medium depression.

A new couple moved into my building so that's always intriguing. I have to get a job other than the Video Production Crew on Home Team Football games day because I'm $broke$.

That's about it.

Had to sit thru a one hour meeting about a new carpet. Fuzzy side goes up that's all I need to know. Seriously, this new carpet is like $90.00 a yard! It's some pretty stuff, but dayum.......a 12 x 18 bedroom would be over $2,000.00. Hey LaL, you need any more floors done?

Well I still haven't hired anyone to rip up my carpet. I don't even know where to go for that. I guess for starters I could look at the yellow pages but I don't wanna. lol I hate hiring people to do things that I know how to do myself. Thing is I don't have the ability to do it. That's where my internal dillema begins. For example, there are about five loads of laundry that I know I need to do. I have not had the ability to do them though, so there they sit in their little pile. lol

I just got out. It was the appt where they get all the history. She said not to make any choices right now and refered me to a psychologist to get medication for anxiety and depression. We have more appt.s in the future scheduled.
