Domestic Violence vs anger managemnet for I-129F??

I have a question while completing my I-129F for my overseas fiance. My ex-wife & I had an incident 9 years ago where I did not do anything. But my ex-wife had framed me with the police and had me arrested for something which I didn't do. But when I went to the court, I was assigned to do some anger management class which I completed. My lawyer told me then just go ahead with the diversion program and that is all. No one wins anything should I go after the police dept for framing me for things I did not do. There was no fights or anyone gets hurt physically during the incident. Nevertheless, there was a police report on both myself and my then ex-wife.

My question is that the I-129F asked for prior DV cases, if any. Would this anger management class consider an instant RFE? Would this cause a huge delay and a total decline? Other than this, I am a professional with a clean record. Please help??

Apparently, there were charges filed, either by the ex-spouse or by the police themselves. Were there none, there would not have been a court appearance.

There will be a record of the charges and the outcome. Obtain those records and answer the questions on the I129F accordingly and honestly.

Fraud and misrepresentation can have disasterous results.

The diversion program was designed, among other things, to eliminate overcrowding in jails. Sometimes, 1st time offenders were offered this option. By completing the course ordered by the court, this usually results in the dismissal of the case without a conviction. You need to acquire your records and make sure this anger management course wasn't a stipulation resulting from a conviction. Then answer the questions on the I 129F accordingly.

Go to the court office or ask an attorney if this is a conviction. Thats what you have to find out.
