Hi to All,

When I get my citizenship I would like to bring my father to the states.

How long takes the process since I send the papers ? ... ( aprox ).

Will he have work permit as soon as he enters ?, how long that takes ?

Takes about + or - one year and he should get his GC within a month of arrival in the US.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Time is much the same as filing a petition for a spousal immigrations visa (IR-1), you file I-130 for your father.

You can get a good estimate by looking at the CR-1/IR-1 timelines and filter for your home country.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Took 7 months for my Mom, that's filing I-130 from overseas and NVC sending mails to Germany. I guess it would have taken longer if not for James' shortcuts.

05/09/2015 - Mailed N-400 application packet to the Phoenix, AZ lockbox

05/11/2015 - Delivered per USPS tracking

05/14/2015 - Check cashed

05/19/2015 - Received NOA

06/02/2015 - Biometrics Appointment

06/04/2015 - In line

08/06/2015 - Interview scheduled per USCIS website

09/11/2015 - Interview - PASSED!

09/18/2015 - Received oath letter

09/22/2015 - Oath Ceremony

Curious, just looking at your timeline you have posted here, but how did you or were you able to file for US citizenship with N-400 form, I thought you had to have been PR with greencard for at least 3 years, based on your timeline you did it in less than a 1 year timeframe, please do tell how you accomplished this feat? Please share with us, curious how you were able to do that?

Even with the U.S. citizen spouse in military service, I still can't understand how she could file N-400 in less than 9 months from obtaining permanent status... Unless she found out she had a grandfather who was a U.S. citizen only after getting permanent status?
