Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Just a personal experience, I'm a USC but came through San Francisco last month as my POE from Russia. It seemed to me that the immigration officials were very helpful and courteous. The lines moved reasonably fast, and there were staff to help people to figure out what line they were in. Obviously I wasn't immigrating, but even the non-USC lines seemed to move along nicely. I think that if your Visa is in order you should have a pretty good experience going through SFO. Best of luck to you.
