OK, I'm sure this thread will quickly become a medium for mud-slinging, irrational behavior, juvenile slogans, and foot-stomping, but I guess that's part of what being a sports fan is all about.

GO RED SOX!

Who cares? Baseball is a boring (long) game for fat guys. It's so drawn out & boring they need 7 games to pick a winner! :P

Hey, now--it can be over in as few as four games!

Fingers crossed!

Seriously, baseball drives me crazy. That said, I'm anti-Sox.

Anti-Sox? What are you, a Yankees fan?

I lived there for 5 years so I was while I was in NYC. I just don't like Sox fans, AT ALL.

I'm a Red Sox fan, but this World Series (seriously? World?) stuff is making me crazy. It's ALL they talk about on the news. They interviewed some local Irish step dancing group because one of the pitchers did a stupid jig on the field when they won the pennant.

I'm all for the excitement of the Red Sox being in the Fall Classic (that's what it's really called anyways), but tell me about it in the Sports time of the news. I won't even watch the local news until this is over - it's THAT annoying!

I agree - and I AM one! (But I think you mean the overly enthusiastic (read moronic) fans, not just the locals who happen to like the Sox... right?)

Exactly! When they show clips of them on the news after the game, they act like complete tools. And then I think to myself, "In 10 years, they're going to look back on this and realize how dumb they look." But then I think about it a little more and realize that they'll never realize it - they'll still be proud of it.
